Some C211s had it and was 1X only, as well as the old moto V65P, and Kyocera 444.
They all still work and are compatible with the Rev A phones.
They are just a bit slower to connect.
I believe those phones were the previous technology generation that's been discontinued. If they interoperate with the new phones, I would say Verizon must have built a bridge to connect them and would explain the lag you're speaking about.
If I am correct, the new phones utilize 3g for ptt but also work on 1x evdo but with a greater lag time, or so it seems. When verizon changes over to 4g phones how hard would it be for them to make it work on the 4g network for faster connection times/would they do so?

For everyones information 3G and EVDO are the same thing.
Also, the older phones will interoperate, I had a friend that purchased an LG 4700 PTT phone and it worked just fine except it wouldnt show him if a contact was avalible and I couldnt see if he was either.
Ive always ran my PTT phones on 1x only to save battery life when in standby mode and have had less problems then when I used them on EVDO or 3G during PTT calls.
Anybody seen the new spot in the airport with the lost dog, the Bold is in it?
Yeah, I saw that. It's pretty good. Looked like a blatant rip-off of the Nextel one where the kid is skipping class and the teacher sets off chain reaction of people looking for them.
So who is using the bold with PTT? I have it and talk with a couple folks and it works really well, also used it on the tour.
I dont know how long they will do it, but on my verizon it says 100% discount for PTT.
What isn't great is when you don't have great 3g service which makes ptt work badly. My phones have anything less than 2 3g bars or if it works on 1x ptt goes at a snail's pace. Would rather a nextel that either it connects or it doesn't with no lag time.

That big red map implies that 3G is everywhere, so those spots have to be former Alltel going by what the experts here. All of Verizon's native network was before buying the other blue, it will be there soon and they can bring back those most dependable ptt ads. Take that Sprextel.
