It may be a revison A technology but PTT will work on Rev. 0 and also 1X, I have used it on 1X many times and the fact of the matter is, I found 1X to only be slightly slower on initial setup but no noticable difference after that.
I have used it on Evdo were there would be problems with the audio skipping and then switched to 1X and held a perfect conversation with no skips.
In fact, when I use PTT with my barrage it is over 1X as I leave 3g or Evdo turned off for maximum battery life.
I had a few Verizon PTT phones to demo last summer. I liked the service better than the Nextels we have now. But the phones are dated. Any plans on new handsets to come out or should we just stay with Nextel and see what Sprint has in the works. My rep says new CDMA PTT phones this summer.

New Phones ? Anybody Know ?
Well, Casio did get the phone out to Verizon but for some reason there's no PTT capability. Other than the Android app. Still, it's a sharp looking phone and ruggedly designed like the other Casio's. I wonder if Verizon is abandoning the PTT arena.
I have two PTT phones from Verizon Wireless. The only thing I don't like about it is that when you push your PTT button to connect to the other device it makes an annoying noise. I guess I'm just so used to the bleep bleep noise that the Nextel phones make. Does anyone know is there is a way to change the send & receive noise that the Verizon PTT phones make? Other than that, I am very impressed with all of my phone's from Verizon Wireless, except the Nokia Twist.
well here is the problems. the only phone that can use PTT are Motorola V860, Casio, samsung convoy, blackberry bold ( have to download PTT software ).. Verizon should install PTT function on most of the phones. so they can make more money.
but anyway. Verizon PTT is super fast.
Where have all the PTT phones gone? Looking at the Verizon website shows the Samsung convoy and the Motorola barrage out of stock. The Casio brigade is not even listed anymore. Are they planning to drop PTT service?
Guys, what do you think about Verizon? I've look through many reviews about it (http://www.pissedconsumer.com/consum.../wireless.html) and can't decide whether it's worth dealing with..What would you recommend?
I dont quite follow what you want to know.
I will say this, I looked at the site you linked here and all I see is a bunch of people that seem stupid to me.
I read several of the verizon post and every one was someone complaining about how they had been mistreated or ripped off.
Some people dont need a cell phone and have no bussiness with one.
Now I will finish with this, this is your first post so I call a foul on you, you are either trying to just get people over to that other site or you are just a troll.
As the commedian Ron White would say, "you cant fix stupid, stupid is forever"
"Guys, what do you think about Verizon? I've look through many reviews about it..."
Overall - the Verizon PTT is great. I've yet to have a problem with either the service or the customer service. It's super quick and I think the beeps are needed to distinguish breaks in conversation. The only complaint I have is the phone choices are extremely limited. The Motorola Barrage (the phone I have) is back in stock. I believe the Casio is currently out now. There's also a Samsung and a Blackberry available. There are no Android phones though. I'm hoping the choices start expanding with the technology out there.
Verizon CDMA is the very reliable as well as PTT.. I also have samsung convoy 2.. The screen is nice and clear.
We just hope Motorola Barrage 2 for it. hopefully it will get better.
