Well I de-Cingularized my V3 with MotoKit. I must say this program rocks, it's so easy to use its scary. I changed my outer display to this:
I think I like it better than the big blue "M". BUT I kind of ****ed up, I didn't write down the path for putting the .gif back if I want to. Would some one please hook up their phone and check it and post it. I know it goes something like this:
a/mobile/system/cl.gif
I know that isn't right because I've allready tried it and it just put that on the display. I dont wanna do a restore just to get that path back.
Also, what are the seems for in the "Cingular Unbranding" pack? I didn't use them cause seem editing still scares me a little, but everything is gone except for the Cingular startup and shutdown screens, which I can live with.
BTW seemplayer is a very easy to use way of editing seems if
you're on the "timid" side .... there's a thread somewhere here
that deals with seem editing (even if it's aimed at VXXX) - I've
used most of the hints / tips / tricks on my V3 with no ill effects
so far ........ and I've got 5.43 MB free !
seems that everytime I'm playing a track in WinAmp and then open MOTOKIT ... the sound goes dead [haven't paid attention if immediately or once I start fiddling with it] ... my SoundMAX control panel goes dead and my volume controls on the keyboard don't work...
basically no sound @ all unless I restart the PC !!
If WinAmp is open but not actually playing anything... I can work with MOTOKIT, close it when done, and sound is fine. [same goes for when WinAMP not even open of course]
How does MOTOKIT have anything to do with my sound !!! ??
Anyone know what's going on here ?? Kempsun??
this isn't going to make me stop using the program by any means... I'm sure I'll start remembering to turn of the sound before running MOTOKIT ... I just find it odd....
same thing happens to me, when i plug in the data cable to my phone the sound goes away, i unplug it and sound comes back....

Is your issue directly related to MOTOKIT or it just always happens when plugging in the cable?

All, the issue isn't with MOTOKIT, it has to do with the MOTOROLA USB Drivers, in particular it is the SOUND CONTROL, one of the drivers that is loaded in the flash suite. It is a known issue..Only way to have it not interfere is to disconnect the phone.

Maybe so...but I have not noticed this problem while using any other software such as MPT, MIDWay, P2KMAN, etc.
For me, 'seems' to be a MOTOKIT isolated situation...hmmm.

[I do know someone that encountered same thing using MSS though ... damned crappy phone drivers ]

Were you ever able to remedy this? I would like to raise the earpiece volume but do not want to affect the other volume settings.
