Anyone know what's going on here ?? Kempsun??
motokit won't change any thing of your sound, but usb drive may do it,when motokit connect your phone successful it will setup P2k USB drivers and switch to 'P2K Mode',sometimes windows is so stupid,it will repace your default sound driver with P2k USB driver,so your sound card didn't work, you can goto windows Control Panel ->Sound->Audio, change default devices set it to your sound card driver..that's what i know
DtechSIB
Once again...anyone know how to resolve this black screen...I already did a uninstall and reinstall...still there....
I just can't see what's in the description screen...
restore your XP theme to default.. or select the text in the black textbox and copy paste to notepad...
Thanks for the reply kempsun!!
I went to Control Panel ->Sound->Audio ... and checked the box where it says "Use only default devices" ... seemed to have do the trick by locking the default devices
Can't express enough how amazing this program is! ...
I created a FLEX backup including ALL files and I checked FULL FLEX on the last screen.
Just now flexed my phone with this and it works perfectly ... no errors. Well of course I had to do a couple tweaks here and there but those were too easy using MOTOKIT not even worth mentioning.
All my games/sounds/wallpapers were intact and ready to go.
Like someone else said in this thread...."It's so easy, it's scary"
Keep up the good work kempsun... and can't wait to see the next release.
Anyone know if this program is compatable with windows 98se? That's what I have and I can't seem to get the program to connect with my phone. Just wondering if it's like p2kman, which I know doesn't work with win98, or if I just didn't install the drivers properly (like PST) Thanks

i had same problem. my comp runs on win98SE, and neither (p2k nor motokit) worked. went over to my gf's, used her xp laptor then BAM worked.

[B]pkley,
try 'Flex Creator' ,create my flex from phone, make your own backup flex ,when restore, just reflex this flex file use MulitiFlashFlex or RC or PST
OK i will try that. shall report back shortly! thanks!
Originally posted by PRELUDiCON Maybe so...but I have not noticed this problem while using any other software such as MPT, MIDWay, P2KMAN, etc.
For me, 'seems' to be a MOTOKIT isolated situation...hmmm.
[I do know someone that encountered same thing using MSS though ... damned crappy phone drivers ]
The reason is that P2KMan MID and the others do not fully invoke all of the commands available on the Moto supplied USB drivers. The Motorola PST (by Moto) and MSS (which uses the Moto drivers) do happen to invoke all of the functions, hence the loss of Audio. I only have this issue on my Win XP laptop ironically, not my WIN2K desktop. If I use the PST or MSS, or MOTOKIT, poof, it's gone. If I use P2KMAN or P2KSEEM, no problem at all.
Strange stuff!

when i try to create the flex file i noticed that there are quite a number of boxes unchecked and if i check them a msg pops up and says sth like 'attribute ending with 0 will be deleted blah blah blah'. then after i click next and if i check the 'create full flex' it then another 'warning msg' appears and tells me if i do that then something will be deleted or wotever... so my question is:
1) do i check all the boxes, including files with attributes ending in 0?
2) do i create full flex?

thanks a lot!
The story goes like this:
The pre-checked files are those that make up the basic FLEX. Those files have attributes that make them stay untouched after a Master Clear/Master Reset...
Any file whose attrib. ends in a "0" will be erased by a M. Clear/M. Reset.
As is usual, and sometimes mandatory to make a M. Clear after flashing/flexing the phone, they come unchecked by default...
The "Full Flex" option, is for making a Flex that will completely replace the one in the phone.
Not checking this option, you create a Flex that only include the files selected in case they aren't on the phone, and replaces them if they are (good for making a package with the seems and files for fast recover of menus, funlights, etc., after a flash/flex)...

Well, seeing how many users of V3 are posting in this thread, I'd like to ask if anyone could make a backup flex (checking all files and seens), but not a "Full Flex" and post here, for me to try and make some tweeking amd comparison...
All the V3 Flexes for Vxxx that you can find are already modded... I´d like to see one from a real V3 with only in-phone modding, if any...

i THINK i know wot u mean...
if i just click next without checking every single box then when i do the 'restore' i lose all my own files.(meaning the photos/vids/java progs that i sent via MPT). but if i check every box and use that flex file to reflex then technically speaking after reflexing my phone will be exactly the same as NOW with those files stored?
and for the 'full flex' case... erm... actually no sorry i still don't really understand wot u mean... pls excuse my n00bness!

Well seeing that nobody read my posts earlier ... I asked the same questions as LF and then posted an update stating that I went ahead and SELECTED ALL files and checked the FULL FLEX box when creating my flex backup...
Like fantome is saying, all the attributes ending with "0" get deleted when perferoming M.CLEAR AFTER the flex operation.
I used MSS to flex my phone with this backup flex and I did NOT check the boxes for M.CLEAR and M.RESET after flex
Phone is working perfectly and all files are intact [games/apps/pictures/sounds]...not to mention 99% of all my settings also intact.
1st thing I had to 'fix' was the typical ringstyles issue. I believe this could have been avoided if I simply did not include 'mytonedb.db' and 'temptonedb.db' as part of the package.
2nd thing I had to 'fix' was the personal text on the outer LCD, 2 seconds with motokit and done.
Otherwise perfect. [oh .. I had to re-select my wallpaper]
So... can someone tell me why it is so crucial/mandatory to select M.CLEAR and M.RESET after flex ?
EDIT:
Just thought of something...
Possibly all went well without checking M.CLEAR etc.. because the flex I was using was a FULL flex ... meaning it wipes out the entire flex on the phone first before writing ... so the only purpose I see for an M.CLEAR is to do just that... clear everything from the flex which you just written to the phone.... why should you have to do that ??
Should be a simple preference option...as it seemed to be with my situation.

o really u already said that? haha oops sorry mate didn't mean to 'ignore' u! i tend to skim read everything when i'm 'updating' myself in hofo everyday (since i only check once every 12 hours or so there're always, always SO much to read)

hmm i think i should create another flex file (FULL flex file, actually) and uncheck those 2 files then... recommended?

Well, let me rephrase it... I posted earlyer while watching CSI, sorry...
In fact, the M.Clear is recommended (or mandatory) after an Flash/Flexing with a Monster File, or in the cases when you are flexing na Vxxx with V620 or V3 Modded Flexes, as this Flexes are incomplete, made for phones with different firmwares, etc.
And this is it... Sorry if I complicated more than clarified...

Sure I recommend ... you can try unchecking those two files...it may work but not sure [no big deal if it doesn't anyways, very easy to fix] ... and before you create this full flex ... maybe try setting all your ringstyles to silent ... [same as the fix if it don't work lol... kind of a pre-fix]
Motokit has a great feature for this.
And so begins the quest for the perfect, bug free flex lol
