Bad news guys... neither samsung nor t-mobile can update the software for S-100

    GRRR.....

i just called t-mobile and asked them if they are able to update the software from 1.5 to newer version, t-mobile CS told me that they don't have a service center like cingular or at&t does, so i will have to call samsungusa to get the software updated. so he gave me a number 1800-samsung, and i called, select the mobile phone option, waited for about 3 mins, ADAM answered the phone and asked for my info. i told him that i bought this phone from germany and would like to update the software version. he said no, all the updates are done from the carrier through "air". i said doesn't samsung have a service site for mobile phones where people can just physically bringing the phone and get it updated? he said no. the only way to do is send the phone back to europe where you purchased it......

so does it mean that i have to flesh it myself and having the chance of ruining it?...... so as of now, what's the correct steps to flesh the phone? can anyone post the thread? i read through the long long thread already, but just can't be sure which steps is the ultimate one to take? the only reason that i want to flesh the phone is that i can't stand the phone sent me a text message when i have a voice mail. cingular are charging 10 cents per incoming text message now, so imaging, you get one text message telling you that you get a voive mail, and another weired symbol telling you that your message has been deleted... and if i have 10 messages per week.... AHHHHH

i want to flesh my phone!!!!

Flashing your phone to 1.6h won't get rid of those text messages you get for voice mail. That's a service provider issue, not the phone.

Yeah I flashed mine. I messed up the first time, but got it right the second.

I just bought a flashing antenna for my S100 on eBay. I just paid for it 5 minutes ago.....

    getting text message for voicemail

i did the upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6 and no problem the first time. i'm on cingular and i did get the text messages for voicemail too, but was fixed after the upgrade. also from what i know, you shouldn't be charged for those messages because you are not receiving messages the phone just think that you are.
