I've spoken with a couple of people using V66's and they are not thrilled with the signal strength. I know this isn't your phone, but they may be similar due to it's form factor.
Sorry.

Has anyone had problems with the reception in fringe areas with the V60?
The GSM version is what I am most interested in, but answers from others may provide clues as well. I noticed yesterday at my In-laws I had no service. In the past with my 6190, 8290, and even the T28 I had 1-2 signal bars in the house, but the V60 had no service. Is there a way to boost this? ie, those antenna boosters you see on cable at 3am. Do they work? If so, which one should I get? One brand better than another? or, are they just all pieces of crap?
I love this phone, but I also want the reception in those "hard to reach places"
And as some of you may know, Voicestream doesn't have an analog signal.
Help.

Sorry.
I am with Cingular in Los Angeles, CA. On my Motorola v66 I notice that the signal is weaker then Nokia. On the 5 bars of signal, only if when I am literally in front of a cell site I will get 5 bars otherwise most of the time it is 3. The phone is still usuable. The other thing is in my room in a fringe area the Nokia 3390 will work placed on my desk upright with 1 to 2 bars (garbled) though, the v66 will have to be placed closer to the window and will get 1 bar and loose it and come right back again. However, I am very satisfied with the Motorola v66 RF compared to the Siemens S40.
Antenna Booster does not work. I tried it and I think it actually made the signals worst. Of course, there were contradictiory reviews of it at another post. It seems like it works better on Nokia phones than others.
Life is short, just do it!
I agree with firerock that the boosters actually make the signal worse. It did not seem to improve anything on my Nokia phone.
Now, if only they would a retractable antenna for the Motorola V60 - V66 then I am sure the reception would be better.
Thanks for info people. Looks like it will be one of those very minor trade-offs to owning a cool phone.
