Can you elaborate on the BB topic? Is this something that your IT guys setup for your phone specifically to work with their BB enterprise server?

Extracted from the SE P910i Blackberry user guide ....

"There are two versions of the BlackBerry service available: one for companies with their own email server (BlackBerry Solution) and one for use with Internet (ISP) Email accounts (Instant Email with BlackBerry).

The BlackBerry service automatically pushes all incoming emails to your phone and outgoing email to your email account. In addition, BlackBerry Solution users have access to the wireless calendar functionality and wireless access to the company's global address book so they can always keep up-todate."

The software supports both versions of service (but either 1 at a time i believe).

I'm using it to access my corporate email through my P910i instead of blackberry 7100g.
What would you do if you are not afraid?

Where can one obtain the BB P910i connect client software from? I didn't think the BB connect sis file was released yet by SE. I know SE has released some documenation on installation and has left the service providers that task of issuing the client software.

I'm asking this question because I would have to say you are the 1st member to claim to have BB fully working on a P910x. Moreover, there is no publication of BB working with P910x anywhere else that I'm aware of. Some have done it with the P900 with the caveat that the IT department develop the software client necessary. I would be much obliged if you could expound on this subject matter. Moreover, let us know if you got both solutions to work.

bmwf1techie in the RIM forum has it working with T-mobile US as well.

The client has been out for a few weeks now. I'm not getting my p910 until tomorrow to set up with my BES.

I managed to get all the necessary software now. However, setup is still an issue.

It took me four hours... Im talking BB Support, Tmobile Tech Support, Tier 2 and 3.. but finally a BB Data Connect specialist was able to figure it out...

He was quite amazed, he stated "this is not supposed to be available yet in the US, I can't belive it works"...

my setup was a breeze apart from figuring out the GPRS setting issue from BB and web surfing.

Probably having installed BB desktop for my 7100g had helped.

I too have had it working now for 3 weeks... downloaded it from the same place.. Tmobile Austria. I dont want to sound greedy or conceited, but I was worried to say anything here, in case someone at T-mobile wised up and pulled the download off their site (then no access to newer versions/upgrades etc)... but since the cat is out of the bag, if anyone wants to ask questions on how I got it working, send me a PM. It took me 5 minutes to setup and have it connect into my companys BES.

I tried to set it up on T-Mobile (US) They said the Pin was not recognized. How did you get past that? Thanks

OK..Tmobile Tech Support people are dumb as a bag of nickels...
You must first try to provision your account on the Tmobile Black Berry website.. if that fails, which mine did, you must then call Black Berry support to provision your pin..

I was talking to the lead technician @ Blackberry Data Connect and he told me that this software is completely diffrent than any other Blackberry Software.. The software via the IMEI translates a generic PIN, this pin is not a valid pin and needs to be manually provisioned into their server. He also stated that Tmobile Austria (the original host of the software download), jumped the gun and Blackberry is in the process of having them remove that software download until it is fully released on a global scale in April...

however, after the pin is forced into the server, then it should be smooth sailing....

but the major issue is attachments...it seems that this software does not allow attachments to be opened... now because of the wacky PIN issue, Tmobile by default blocks attachment downloads, so you have to call back after all is provisioned to enable that feature. Mind you all this was done by me, the BlackBerry Data Connect tech, and BlackBerry Tmobile Support rep and it was conclusive that there are issues with this version of the software.. so push works fine, but not attacjments..

I use a BES through my company and this portion worked right away...

When I went to the t-mobile blackberry site to change the PIN it told me I could not and to call tmobile. I did and the blackberry tech was able to see that I was using a P910a, my IMEI and the PIN used... He just reset my account and everything works flawlessly...... (until this week anyway when my company IT department set a IT policy that restricts the type of e-mail accounts used... now I can not use the tmobile website to redirect my emails... that specific service book is automatically deactivated on my phone.

    Why doesn't this ever work?

I am using Windows 2000. I have the latest version of Java. I updated my DSS-25 drivers just to be sure. I am using Firefox.

But it NEVER goes anywhere. This was true with the previous version. (BTW, I am 162005/3 R1A29). The Update Service applet starts, and the station loses sync (light turns out). It tells me to turn off the phone and place it on the base station, which I do. Then it goes to power cycle the phone and ALWAYS returns the Failure to Communicate error. Then, to top it off, the phone DOES power up.

Doesn't matter if base station has power cord plugged in or not.

Can someone PLEASE help me. I would REALLY like to update this phone.
