You need to use the recovery option. You may need to go through that process a few times if it fails. I was in that boat once with one device (P900) in the past, but the recovery mode eventually helped. If your phone is functional, but not updated I would also suggest that you reset the phone.

Thank you for the input, BigFeat. I tried using the recovery mode, but got an error box: "Error in Communication with the device." This happened when it was like 2% of the way into the update.

Any idea why I might be getting such an error?

There are too many variables as to why you are getting the error. All of which includes your mobile phone, pc configuration, and the online updater. As I stated before you may really want to try to continue to update it.. Try to master reset as well if you can.

I have seen the online updater behave very strangely ever since they implemented the service for the P900. I think the majority of the problems is on the SE side.

    Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7100/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

It is R2A16 instead of R4A16. Did the service center loaded an older version for me?

I just received my P910a. I would like to see which firmware version I have currently on my phone. How do I find out which version I have?

It's been a little while now. How is the latest greatest P910a firmware? Any improvements to the speed issue?
Air goes in and out. Blood goes round and round. Any deviation is a problem.

I have exactly the same problem (as describe a/m error message from Java Console). Have you somehow resolved it?

i dont know about anyone else but i thikn i upgraded my firmware about 2 months ago and my cda is 162005/8 and it upgraded me to r4a11. whats wierd now is that jsut today i checked my cda for any newer updates and now i get:

    Your device is not supported

CDA162005/8 is not supported or you have entered an incorrect number.

If the number is correct, it means that your operator does not approve usage of the service for this device. If the number is incorrect, click Previous and enter the right number.

???? i dont get it.... oh well. i guess ill have to wait and see if the ycorrect their site.

I got that error once, I think you forgot to enter the CDA first. It looks like you dont need it since its on the left of that field, but you do.

WARNING: I updated to R4A02 and when I restarted the phone my Language Setting defaulted to Chinese!

Took me a half hour to fumble through the menus to get it back into english.

i have never had to enter CDA before the number before and if you notice on the error message, it placed CDA in front of my entry already.

also, if you go to the SE site where you enter your cda number ..preceeding the entry box is already "CDA" there for you.

i think SE just might be a lil screwy right now. cus i have R4A10 as of right now which i think is the newest org version
