Sidekick made a good ashtray tonight

Went out tonight for some drinks and a buddy of mine asks whats that? Since I have no service because its down I ashed on it and said its an ashtray.

I have had this thing for over a month now and its been down a few times. It makes no sense to carry around this thing with such shaddy service and uptime. Whats the early termination charge for Tmobile? There has got to be some breach of contract on their part. Somebody please tell me it gets better than this or is the downtime something thats come to be expected. This is basically a joke.

This is the second outage I've experienced since the end of Nov '04...this isn't a breach of contract on their part...$200 ETF.

This has got to be a joke. Its still down but was up for a little this morning. Going on 4 days with pretty much no service except for the phone...great... I dont use this thing as a phone.

Just wondering is everyone ok with this because I am not?

As I am typing this I just got service back 11:55 am pacific time. piece of garbage service.......I would use other words but the board would replace them with f@#$**#& stars.

Thanks holdenmichael I couldnt find how much the ETF was. Maybe I could sell this thing for $200 to cover that. Any takers.....hahahahaha great timing.

I wouldnt really call this an outage I would call it broken. I'd say an outage is when the power goes out for a few hours and u gotta use the toilet in the dark. I would say the power is broken when its dark for 4 days and I cant watch any porn. I can live with 1 day maybe a day and a half but this is beyond acceptable.

sorry this is just me venting

Yeah I finally got fed up with my sidekick 2 and sold it. Used that money to get a treo 600. I have since been advising my friends with sk2's to do the same. You won't regret it.

No, you're not the only one that doesn't like this.

There's another large thread about the outage in this forum and it contains a link to a similar much, much larger thread in the HipTop forums.

I don't have an alternative because other similar phones are much more expensive as are the data plans.

IM and Web are just fun features for me, but I can understand how business users who have more dispensable income would be willing to pay for a much more expensive service as long as it's reliable.

Yeap, Consumers are starting to recognize the flaws of this device and are starting to sell their SK's to unsuspecting non informed consumers ROFL...

I could just imagine myself on a street corner going "Hey sucka! Wanna buy a Sidekick? It's the bomb! Of course it's reliable! Why am I selling it? Oh.. its uhm.. too complicated for me" lol

    My Feedbacks
    It's not a Sidekick II. It's a Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa'kik
