You do realize that USCC won't give WAP and took until 2002 to release 2-way text messaging and last year to release 2-way email.

I don't think Video Ringtones are high on the list.

for the record i gave up on wap. The at&t wireless (now suckular) keeps losing signal. I could just use nWeb on my 810, however by the time i remembered this i was home. I made it to like page 80 of 110.... Still, if you try to keep up with sprint you'll be getting a new phone every 6-8 months. Because in a few months even ALLTEL will have a better phone. Ouch huh?
    Use what works for you!

I have too many phones, with too many carriers. This is not a good thing.

Droo, for the record two way sms was around in mid 2001 but inter carrier didn't show up until early 2002. The same was true for a lot of carriers. When i had verizon i could only text verizon. Inter carrier still doesn't always work, there is a carrier in wi that still can't text off network.

I was a TDMA customer in Oct 2000 and I had a year of one-way text before I had two-way SMS here even on USCC's network. It must've been toward the edge of 2001.

I'm pretty sure about this. The Northeast was not the first to get two-way SMS though.

    Let the tassles fly.

I had 2 way sms in '01. I remember it was the only thing that was working during 9-11, so my dad and i were using it. Also in the spring of that year, i do remember sending them to a few friends. I didn't get a real phone (IE, non CenturyTel craptasic) until i graduated from HS in June of '00.

It's still quite a long time from when AT&T had it here in 1998. They had wireless web before USCC had 2-way text too.

But, to play the other side of the coin:

The AT&T service regions are quite messed up here. Ellsworth Maine's market is now GSM, as is Bar Harbor ME/Acadia region, but the rest of Washington and Hancock county is all still TDMA. They should just sell that market to Unicel and focus on their Portland market (which is also severely lacking in the customer service and sales arena).

AT&T was still selling TDMA in the Ellsworth market up until 4-6 months before Cingular merged.

    SPRINT SUCKS!!!!!!!!

Just playin, got you guys excited didn't I , sprint is actually not that bad I could make calls when I wanted to and the bars showed good service. I drove down to N. Myrtle Beach afta school today and it did good all the way there. My friend has the 5 pm nights they were offering a couple of weeks ago so on the way back just now and I did good all the way I did not drop the call and the quality was great. I am still a little concerned if sprint will hold up if I travel (Spring break less than 10 days). I like sprint ok and the phone is amazing a large inner display and a 65k outerdisplay. And Oh yeah the Video tones work great I got a new Crime Mob one today! I will got to broadway at the beach tommorow nite and see how it does there.

You need to take a cruise on some backroads up to Waccamaw or something. Then tell us how your Sprint holds up. Without roaming, too. We know your roaming will be great.. it'll be USCC towers.

Did something change? According to my paperwork only the Sanyo 5600 has Video Ringers.

Then how come Sprint PCS doesn't realize the 8200 can do video ringtones?

Surely 2 supported phones would be better than one in a press release?

"Everybody" can't roam. If there's a signal, there's some company whose customers can't roam.
