We see lots of bag phones and installed ones in some of our areas, due to terrain issues mostly.
Sad thing is that A) You can't get more new parts for them and B) You can't get more analog parts for the network either. Give it a couple years and it'll be a very fond memory and a very cumbersome novelty.

New parts are hard to find, but you can still get the handset cables from Tessco, and with the surplus of actual phones on eBay it's not hard to part one out and fix phones.
I'm suprised though that you can't get analog tower equipment though. It's the sad end to a legend.
It does suck, but from the carrier's standpoint, analog was bound to be phased out anyway. It probably would have been around now if the FCC hadn't set the 2008 mandate.
Digital has its advantages, but I mean come on.. if we had analog networks that were deployed with the quality and saturation our digital networks are today, can you imagine how good the sound quality would be? It'd seriously be like a landline.
Well there has to be SOME disadvantage to analog, i mean isnt that why ther are phasing it out? I dont know anything about analog but there had to be a problem for the FCC to mandate it.
Dude totally agre man. USCC is about to launch were im at and I see absolutely no way tey will compete in this market. They need to change some stuff up hardcore just to survive.

i doubt it, everywhere there will be people that want a phone with good coverage, good service and reasonable prices without all the bells and whistles...
Finally, wirelessmessiah you see where i am coming from, even though have grown to love USCC and would not think of porting(at least 98% of the time) they really need to step there game up that is why I am waiting on the new Nokia to come out.
PS-keep talkin like that and they will bash you harder than Dave Chappel at a Mick Jackson show. But you gotta know how to stand ur ground like urs truly.

Yeah its called T-Mobile with a 6010 for free. no bells and whistles excellent coverage and way better rates. Plus credit is much easier to pass. And most important for me it only takes five minutes to activate rater than the lengthy process of USCC. I used to run a store with T-Mobile, Cingular, Sprint, Nextel, and USCC up north and we couldnt give away USCC. We did not sell one for months. I think they need to change to survive in a bigger market that I now am living in.
Hey i cant help you now, when the flaming starts dont look at me.
But you are still cool in my book. I would have long ago switched to one of the bigger carriers in my area but hey you gotta have reception first!!! Right?

They can bash all they want.
USCC is a good carrier but they need to find their place in the industry if they are gonna venture into bigger markets. You thinkin of the new Nokia 6155? that phone is hot man.
