...or out getting repair estimates for the insurance company, like me! Still haven't heard back from them (after faxing the paperwork). How long am I supposed to wait?
Of course, when combined with the other extremely annoying Oklahoma habit of tailgating (and, no, I'm not referring to the sporting event-related activity)...
I've lived many places, including upstate NY, the border town of El Paso, southeastern WI, and even Germany. But Okies? Sheesh. Close contender? Columbus, OH. Bumper-to-bumper, at 70 mph, in a one-lane constuction zone, after 10 hours of driving by myself with no cruise control. Yeah, I found the next exit and got a hotel.
Speaking of Okies, there is a HUGE population of them here in the San Joaquin (Central) Valley, especially around Bakersfield, they came out here in large numbers during the Dust Bowl (Grapes of Wrath is an excellent movie on this). As far as whether they tail gate, well, I've never been tail gated much in that area, so I guess they left that inclination in Oklahoma. LOL Some very famous Oakies from Bakersfield include Country Stars Buck Owens and Merle Haggard, Buck Owens has a big venue there too, the Buck Owens Crysal Palace. http://www.buckowens.com/index2.html

Hey guys, a member of another forum that I am a member of is organizing an effort to collect a bunch of Xbox 360 and PS3 games to send them over to some of our troops in Afghanistan to help them pass the time. PM me if you would like the address and keep in mind that you only have to pay standard domestic shipping rates when sending packages to foreign military bases.
Or if you prefer you can send the games to me and I will send them. So if you have some games laying around that you're not going to play anymore and want to put them to good use please PM me.
Wow, that's really nice of you guys! I'm sure they will really appreciate that! Wish I could help, but I don't have any of those game platforms. I do have my DS XL, love it!
OK, so Manning to the Broncos, and Tebow "fans" are in high gear on the internets, claiming that Elway (prez of the Broncos organization) is only doing this because of Tebow's beliefs (for those who don't know, Tebow is very public in his beliefs as a Christian). Of course they ignore the fact that in his second season in the NFL, he barely led the Broncos to the playoffs (by winning the AFC West with an 8-8 record), won one playoff game over the Steelers (who's QB was still recovering from a high ankle sprain - not a good injury for a highly mobile QB), and has a career 47% passing completion rate - in a league that puts a premium on passing. By comparison to NFL elite QB's: Peyton Manning (64.9%), Tom Brady (63.8%), Ben Roethlisberger (63.2%), Drew Brees (65.9%), Eli Manning (58.4%).These are the QB's who consistantly take their teams deep in the playoffs. But, yeah, it's all about his beliefs, right? lol
And Tebow to the Jets as a backup to Mark Sanchez. I wonder if they'll try to get him to play another position to justify the acquisition, since they already have 3 QB's on the roster, I think.
I really wish my team would pick up a good quarterback. I think Cam Newton was phenomenal for being a rookie (man he likes to run!)...but being a Panthers fan has been kind of rough the past couple of years. They lost a lot of their strong players, so I'd love to see them pick up a strong player that can help motivate the rest of the team.
I don't follow football much, just my High School, Covina High in SoCal and of course my Alma Mater, Idaho State University. I am, however a big basketball and baseball fan, I love my L.A. Lakers and L.A. Dodgers!
Edit-This is San Francisco Forty Niner's and Oakland Raider's country up here, and I do root for the Niner's. Speaking of that, L.A. is FINALLY getting an NFL team again, when I grew up there in the 70's to 1990, the Rams and Raider's were the teams, but of course the Rams moved to St.Louis and the Raider's back to Oakland, and L.A. has been NFLless since then, leaving San Diego, Oakland and San Francisco to carry on with the NFL thing.
