how sure are you about the 850mhz band thing?? because as of right now, that is my major concern. AFAIK, in the past when i flashed a samsung phone that has the 850/1900mhz bands with firmware that was either 900/1900 or triband, the phone didnt get reception after i flashed it. also, i dont know what program to use in order to back up the cingular firmware i have on it right now. the ver. 43 firmware for the s65 can be downloaded on siemens' website i presume, since i got the s56 firmware from there a little while ago. anyway, i'd love to upgrade to the v.43 firmware for the s65, but i just need a few clarifications: first off, the 850mhz band, and secondly, has the battery life improved? cus as of right now my s66 gets HORRIBLE battery life. why didnt siemens make a firmware update for cingular's s66?
goldhead: can you provide a step tutorial (on how to upgrade and backing up)on how to do this, since the cingular firmware is so bad.
Yes, I will try to do it tomorrow.Originally posted by joey322

search for dca-510 on the left in store search
thanks, picture looks legit, with that many feedbacks, i wouldnt doubt the seller too much, but i guess i will never know until i get the actual item. cross fingers...
thanks again, gonna order one right now, cant wait to upgrade the firmware.
Yeah, I know a guy who bought this cable from that guy and it is OK. You probably won't get the CD that should come with the cable, but you don't need it anyway, you can download the drivers from the Siemens web site.
i actually purchased my cable from the same guy. it came with the cd no problems. looking forward to that guide goldhead![]()
hmm does anyone else know how to upgrade the firmware?
OK, the guide to upgrading firmware using someone else's fullflash is here:

It took me some time, because I had problems finding free web hosting to host these big files. So instead I used Yousend it, so the files will be there only for 7 days unless someone removes them earlier. If you have any ideas where to host big files of anykind of type (rar, zip, ...), please let me know or if you have your own webspace, where you can host them, please do so, if you are interested and give me a link. Even feel free to host my guide too.
Unfortunately setting up this guide wasn't as easy as I though and there may be some problems with generating your loaders with PapuaUtils. Please, somebody try my guide out and let me know if you encounter problems of any kind. If you read it carefully and especially if you BACKUP all your fullflashes and loaders thoroughly, nothing should happen. But if anything bad will happen to your phone neverheless, I CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS.
Use only at your own risk !!!!
awesome goldhead. i'm at the x65flasher. and after i turn it off, i get the blinking "Press the red button on your phone shortly" am i suppose to wait? or i'm i just suppose to hit it? If i just hit the red button without waiting i get a box giving me choices "Boot Password, All Open, Patched Bootcore, Restore broken bootcore, and boot password." which one am i suppose to choose?

Yes, you should hit the red button without waiting. But it shouldn't ask you for that. Did you copy the config.ini file generated in PapuaUtils to the x65flasher directory? If yes and it still gives you those 4 options, try hitting Boot Password and maybe it will generate its own loader. If yes and it connects to the phone, don't forget to backup the config.ini file, it is very important. Or better yet, backup all the files and subdirectories in your x65flasher directory, because it should also generate a V_Klay loader, which will be in the V_Klay subdirectory.
