First thing you'll need to flash the phone to generic software. The phone comes standard with 3G network settings hardcoded. After you flash the phone you'll be able to enter any settings you like

Flashing your A1000 will not SIM unlock it.
Have it unlocked first by a phone shop.

Im here in nyc with T mobile network i went to a phone shop they tried something nothing really happened so I dont really know what to do now

Was the phone shop able to unlock the A1000 ?
Put in your TMobile SIM and see if that works.

Nope well it reads the sim card thou like ican see all my contact but i cant call anyone its tellin me invalid usim. So i assume its not working

I think it is still SIMLOCKED.
Normally when you boot up the A1000 , it will register with the network before you hit the Home screen. If you do not see a successful registration on boot up, then it is probably SIMLOCKED.

There are unlockers in the UK that can do remote unlocking for the A1000. Just google it and find out if they are in UK.

I am trying to get the internet settings for my a1000 but i dont know how to flash a phone and all that. i am phone retarded. can someone please help me.!!!!! my phone works and is unlocked. i am currently using cingular.

Can you help me set up my internet settings for my A1000. My phone is unlocked I can make calls and send text but can not access the internet. I'm hoping you had luck working this out and could share .

Can anyone offer any advice for me and M3 regarding the Motorola A1000? The only answer I have been given to date is to contract with the UK provider (3com) and they will be able to assist in removing the settings. The underlying problem is that although this phone is manufactured by Motorola in Europe (Uk and other European countries) is designed specifically for the 3G network and for the carrier (3com) in Europe. However, since I purchased here in the United States and with technology as it is today, there has to be a way to change/remove the default settings without having to send the phone to the United Kingdom to contract (which causes a delay amongst other problems) and request removal of the default settings. Please SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!

P.S. (M3 and others) - Please note, inevitably, even with settings accesible...;you will not be able to utilize the Video Conferencing because it is not yet available here in the United States.
