Question Problems with wallpaper and Bitpim

I have a VX4500 and I am trying to load wallpaper on my phone and I am running into a problem. I had about 10 wallpapers on there but they were making my phone turn off when I was scrolling though them. I read that the problem was they had to be 16 bit rather than 24 bit and that the memory was being used up. Also, when I would assign a pic to a contact to show up when they call, it was just blank. I noticed in Bitpim that all of the pics were 24 bit so I went into photoshop and saved them as 120x131 16 bit pics and upload them into Bitpim and they are still showing up as 24 bit. When I load the pics into my phone, it just either shows up blank or shuts off while scrolling through them. What is the deal and how do I fix it??????

Apparently Bitpim converts them to 24 bit automatically. After uploading the wallpapers, you need to go into the brew tree and manually replace the uploaded wallpapers with the ones from your computer. This will place the true, unconverted wallpaper on your phone, and save you some memory besides. Since being alerted to this fact, I haven't had any more problems of this sort.

Cool, I will try that and see if it works. Thanks!

    here is what i do

seeing as how all the wallpaper on my lg 4600 are .png and bitpim like to make larger .bmp ones here is what i do..I open the image or whatever i wnt to use with bitpim like you would normally do ..once the image is a .bmp befoe i upload it to my phone i open a graphics editor program like paint shop or photoshop and i the open the .bmp file in the bitpim wallpaper directory that i just created and then i go back to bitpim an remane the .bmp wallpaer i just made to .png after I have done that i go back to paint shop reduce the image to 256 color and then save it as a .png file to the bitpim wallpaper folder overwritting the file i just renamed in bitpim ..right click on the image in bitpim and hit refresh and you will notice a large reduction in file size and now you can send it to your phone with bitpim ..work like a charm for me
