6230b language support

i just got a 6230b today through cingular. the downside of the b models is the lack of middle eastern languages. i text message with friends from israel in hebrew, and would love to be able to continue to do so. is there a way to change/add the languages?

also, how do i check which firmware version came with the phone?

you can request this when upgrading fw through 3rd party
I did it (add Trad/Simp Chinese) on my 6230 when sent for fw upgrade

You can check the firmware version on your phone by pressing *#0000#. The latest version for the 6230/6230b is 5.35.

We can flash it with any language

Does 6230 or 6230i have an Japanese language version?

I guess I should have been more clear. Any language for a country that uses GSM.

Because there are no GSM (only) phones in Japan, no GSM-Only phones have Japanese language packs. Neither the 6230 nor the 6230i has this language pack.

I don't need the entire OS in Japanese. I just need the Japanese T9 Dictionary. I was able to view Japanese websites in Japanese via GPRS by changing the display settings.

I'm not sure which phone you are referring to there, but there are no GSM firmwares that I know of which contain any Japanese support.

(UMTS/GSM phones being the exception)
