    Unlocked GSM phones work with Nextel sim?

    Hey everyone I was wondering if unlocked GSM phones would work with the Nextel SIM card? I've heard rumours of people unlocking V710's to work with Nextel. I don't think it would work, and I searched the forum, but nothing showed up.

    There are many threads on this general topic. A NXTL SIM will operate (roam) in an unlocked GSM phone outside of North America only. NXTL has no deals with carriers that support 1900 MHz, the principal US GSM frequency, so this band is unused. Int'l roaming rates will always apply to GSM calls. --BAM
