Having all this commotion intentially around this phone and the date of its launch which was first on July then mid July; August; then maybe on Xmas will built consumer awarness about the 6682 and ppl will start waiting for this baby to come out. And guess what, when it comes out after all this wait the possibility that consumers buying this phone will be much higher now that everyone has knowledge about this phone. MARKETING...
This is almost exactly what happened with the 6230 last year....
Any idea what the problem was related to?? Similar to the BT Bug of the 6230, or the 850 problems of the v600? As was hinted at, if the 6681 is basically the same phone, only 900, shouldn't it have the same problem?? I'm still of the persuasion that Cingular's branding does more harm than good in most cases.
can't comment on the exact problem. My source would be mad. Best guess? 2 weeks

i think if they just put it on their website in their available phones, people will find out about it fast enough....especially when there are people like us that will buy it already and show off to everyone how cool it is...
people just have to know it's there. i bet most consumers look at service providers when they look around to upgrade their phones....not directly at the manufacturer's site...
Well darn, I wanted to sign up with Cingular AND get this phone at the start of August. So much for that plan...
I'm in the same boat as you. Tired of not having signal at home. Why oh why did i buy a house in an area that has no coverage. lol. A little sarcasm there.
Boosters are getting cheaper all the time, rather than spending $400 on a new phone every 6 months (if you're like many here) perhaps spending $300 on a signal booster for your home would be a good idea.
I heard the same from a cingular rep over the weekend:
Its coming out THIS WEEK and for $300 with 2yr contract (no rebates as of now, even though I said I'll buy 2 I wish I could get buy 1 get 1 free )
Last night (7/19) I stopped by the same cingular store that I visited past weekend (see above quote). I met some other rep and he said that it should be out within 2-6 weeks !!! He told me that they were out of Nokia 6620 and they werent getting anymore, so thats an indication that 6682 should be here in 2-6 weeks :rolleyes2
Honestly, looking at this and other scary thread about 'Cingular bills $3K+' and 'Cingular reps rude', I am being a bit skeptical about moving to cingular from tmobile. I wish Tmobile had better phones with better coverage
