Normally I'd take the contract discount, cause I'm going to have to buy a new RS-DV-MMC for this phone, but I'm also moving to DFW at the end of the year, right in time for UMTS, so it might be worth it to hold out on my contract for a little longer and just pay retail for this one....

If you're going to pay full price, it might be better to get an unbranded one. At the moment, the 6682 can't be unlocked, so it will only be good for Cingular. An unbranded one will be good even if you change providers.

all I can say is that if they pull the same "geographic launch" that they did with the 7610 I'm going to be one pissed off M.F. Now that we have an idea of when it'll be out, does anyone have a concrete number as to pricing?? I've heard $300, 350, and 400+ w/ 2yr.
Also, I've been wondering (and IHAP, since you HAVE a Cingular one, you can answer this) if Cingular removed the QuickOffice that's supposed to come with the phone? Also, it's listed as coming with a 64MB card, but I know that Carriers can opt for a smaller one. Is this another liberty Cingular has taken with this phone?? That's probably the biggest thing I hate about branding is that stupid carriers remove stuff that's supposed to be there.

1. prepare to get pissed off about the release areas
2. QuickOffice is loaded
3. can't speak to the size of the card in the released version
from what I hear, tomorrow is D day on the release date
If I live in Abilene, TX, will I be able to call CS and get it shipped, or where is the closest market I will have to drive to to pick one up in a store. I WILL have this phone.
