    Does Tmobile report good credit?

    Hi,

Does anyone know if tmobile reports good credit to the credit agencies, so that you get better credit if you pay your bill?

    Thanks!

Nope. They do a credit check when you open a new account but they dont actually report on a monthly basis for your on time, or late payments. They will eventially make a negative trade line in your credit report if the account becomes delinquent and has been sent to collections.

That sucks a**. So they use up one of your precious credit inquiries, don't report your good behavior, then report you if you miss a payment?????????

Hardly any, if any, cell phone company, cable company, landline telco, etc, reports payments of BILLS. You don't earn credit for paying your phone, utility, cable, garbage, insurance, etc.

You earn credit by borrowing money, and then repaying it. And of course they check your credit, just like a lot of utility companies or cable companies check your credit - they don't want to risk giving you the ability to rack up $400 worth of service if you have a history of other cell phone companies having to send your account to collections due to non-payment.

Also, they don't "report you if you miss a payment" by a few days - pay your bill three or four days late now and then and you'll probably fine. They're only going to report your account if they have to send it to collections - just like any other cell phone company, or cable company, or grocery store you write a bad check to, or blockbuster if you never return a movie\pay a bill you've been charged for, etc, etc, etc.

    It's how credit works.

Im pretty sure they only do a soft pull and not a hard one. Which, incase you dont know, means that only YOU can see it on your credit report and no one else, and also that will not affect your credit score. Besides even if it is a hard pull the minimal effect that it has on your credit score isnt something to get all that pissed about its just 1 pull on 1 of 3credit bureau reports so that leaves 2 other credit reports with no pulls. Just pay your loans and credit cards on time and you will be fine.
One 30 day late payment to your credit card company will have at least 10 times the negative effect on all 3 reports then tmo pulling your credit on just one.
