Hey all!
I decided to make a thread with resources, for noobs and veterans alike, to either make your own ringtones, convert ones that are on the net or whatever! These took me a long time to find so.... Enjoy!!!
I found their aren't too many sites that have ringtones in .imy format and getting them sent is too expensive for me so I found plenty of ways to get ringtones off the net for FREE!!! (free is good!) The only catch is you need IR, Bluetooth or data cable...
To get ringtones sent to your phone, the ringers need to be in .imy format or I-Melody before you can send them.
For conversions from RTTL, E-Melody to I-Melody (most newer Ericsson phones use this)Download Melody Composer at:
Next we have to find the ringtones. Most sites want to send them to you for a fee, which I think is BS. However, as most of us who have looked for ringtones know, nokia ringtones are the easiest to find and sound the best (besides polyphonic) SO....Just go to your favorite search engine and type in "RTTL ringtones" RTTL being what Nokia's use. That's easy....as soon as you find the RTTL code all you have to do is copy and paste the code into the Ringtone converter and it will convert it into I-Melody and you send it to your phone or use Melody Composer to key it in.....
here are some sites that have RTTL, Nokia Composer code, or what not
This site has many, many FREE SE ringtones in the form of keypresses (for those of you w/out data transfer ability) http://www.mrtones.com/home.mt?m=8
Basically, just get any ringtone to RTTL (if it's in Composer or keypresses) and then send it over to the Melody Composer program and convert it to I-Melody and send it to your phone or use the export button to see T68i keypresses.
Sorry if all that was a lot or confused you, but I'm too lazy to see if it makes sense...... if have any questions, post them and I'll get back to them as soon as I can. See ya and have fun!

thanks for the info..w/regard to the mr. tones site, how do I copy the codes? it seems to be image rather than actual codes so i can copy the whole thing but can't paste it to ringtone converter.

you shouldn't need to convert it....the site has all the keypresses for Sony Ericsson phones, however if you're wanting to convert it to .imy, you're better off just inputting the keypresses on your phone
