    what a joke!

whats all this about rttl or i-melody? 95% of new phones supports mp3.
is there anybody that's preffering to use old mono tones for their phones?

the solution is quite simple if you don't want ot pay for your ringtones, simply download any mp3, and you can, 1 transfer the entrie mp3 to you phone or, 2 cut the song into the lenght you want and then transfer it to your phone.

or you can convert the mp3 into aac fromat witch i much smaller and the transfer it onto your phone.

or just pay to download the ringtones, its' hassel free!

First things first. The ringtones you can buy typically sound like total CRAP!!! Not to mention, some people switch phones around qutie a bit, and don't want to pay for a ring tone everytime they switch phones or one of their phones die.
Secondly, my phone, like many others will not let you use a full MP3 song as a ring tone. You have a method for making MP3 songs into ringtones, why don't you post that instead of slamming others for their attempt to help people that actually read these forums for educating themselves.

    Right click and save as

Save the file as an .MP3 then upload to your phone via cable.

it opens as quicktime, and i do not want to buy quick time pro, which means I can't save it. Is there any other way to save it as mp3?

Okay, so how do I make my OWN ring tone? I know how to edit music, compress it to MP3, and transfer it to the phone.

    What I do not know...

    1) How long (in seconds) can a ringtone be?
    2) How large can the (MP3) file be?
    3) Which bitrate can I use to compress the file (192, 256, multiple)?

I assume I can just save the MP3 file to a certain file on my Z710 and then be able to set it as my default ringtone...
