I work at a cable plant and to have to test large reels of wire for continuity.
I usually connect the wire to a board of pins, which are all connected to ground.
Then I connect my continuity tester to the same ground and touch the opposite ends of each wire to check continuity.
What I want is to have one or both of the probes to be wireless so that I can connect one to ground and carry the other one to the ends of each wire like a remote ( this one has to beep).
Is this even possible? I have a decent knowledge of soldering and electronics, and have the cash flow to build jusdt about nething that doesn't require programming an microchip. I cin probably find a continuity tester to hack apart for this project also.

Hello all,
Just briefly looking at this idea i think its great, but will be quite complex to implement. I think that a reference for the signal would be a problem, i.e. wireless units with no common reference. however if a common ground is present at both point (another cable) then its easy to make, but that wouldn't qualify as wireless anymore.
I'm an electronics engineer and I'm really interested in this concept, please share with us what you find or the principle of your design, and i will share my findings when i investigate it further.
Thanks
Here's the closest thing I found. I may pick one of these up when I have the spare cash...
