Exclamation iPaq won't send SMS messages.

Got my usual help from t-mobile. Not.

The phone receives SMS but will not send. Received a number of 'why do you hate me?' messages from friends because I have not responded to them in days. Clearly, I have so very neurotic friends. LOL

T-mobile says their system sees my messages and the phone is saying it is sending but no one is receiving them. Oddly, I can send a message to myself and receive it.

T-mobile thinks it is all the other networks problems but the only new factor here is my new iPAQ.

Also, what is Ipaq File Storage and what is it for given I have a 1 GB storage card?

    Thanks.

Just got off the phone with tmoble again.

Apparently there is a 'known issue' with the Ipaq that when you reply to a SMS it appears to send but goes into limbo or the Twilight Zone.

The only way to reply is to create a new message. I am not sure this is the whole problem but that is half the answer thus far.

    Have you found a solution?

I was wondering if another text messaging program might work.

Yeah, for the time being. Just not reply. Do a new sms w/o the +1 part.

There are other sms programs i do belive. I might check them out.

Have you tried a hard reset on the phone? Maybe that would correct your problem.
Take a look at my new blog: MobileGenius. It is really just a few reviews at this point but I think I cover a few things that some of the reviews I have read do not take time for. Feel free to leave a comment!

Several of my customers have experienced this issue. The resolution for each of them was to obtain a new SIM. YMMV.

They switched SIMS with the replacement phone. I wondered if that might not be the problem.

How do you get tmobile to acknowledge the problem and switch your SIM?

Not sure I quite understand what you did. Could you repeat it one more time?

Go to a store and ask them to try a SIM in your phone. If it sends succesfully, then you may just want to buy one.

    OK...

When I first got the phone i turned it on (effectively a cold boot) without the SIM card in...no SMS (send or receive)

THen I perfomed a cold boot with the SIM card in and all is well.
