I have a big problem. I've tried to erase the MacOSX skin I put on my phone, and it won't erase. All that is left in the folder is the ski file, and somehow it's preventing me from installing other skins. I've tried Bitpim and the deleting flex, and nothing seems to work. And I haven't done any seem edits. help?
Noob here (don't let that massive 1 post count fool ya) and I have a quick question for you guys. I tried reading through the whole thread for the answer, but 99 pages is mighty intimidating...
I did the seem edits. Now, when I cycle through the sounds menu, i hear a crackly, static sound. Has anyone else encountered this? And what can I do to fix it?
Well, thanks in advance. And more importantly, thanks for sharing all of this knowledge and expertise. This is my 1st phone mod, and I wouldn't have been able to do it without you.
Hi I am new to this phone hacking stuff and I have read well over half the posts in the 815 hack thread. My problem is that when I try to do steps 2 and 3 i get a com port unsupported type message. I read that power cycling you phone will fix this. If power cycling means to turn your phone off and then on then that didn't work. Also I just put a custom carpc in my car. I would like to use phonecontrol.net aswell as dial up internet access through my phone with bt. So if some one could help me out with steps 2 and 3 it would help me in my goal. Thanks
sam
hey, how do you send files to other phones using bluetooth? is that possible? pretty newb question, but still it begs to be asked
and it has been asked and answered many many many many times...
For your phone to initiate the transfer, the phone needs to support Bluetooth Object Push (OPP)... which NONE of the Moto phones with bluetooth that Verizon sells have.
Now, other carriers (Alltel) that sell the same model might have this feature enabled, but Verizon's phones DON'T have the code built in them.
On Verizon's V3C (only with Verizon's .02 firmware) and E815 (after seem edit), you can use BT Obex File Transfers, but this allows you to "pull" files from the phone or "push" files to the phone, provided the transfer is initiated by another device (i.e. bluetooth equipped PC or PDA).
I am trying to get the seem edits done but I cannot get PST to recognize the phone. I installed PST 7.2.3 and then ran the unipatch. I then connected my phone to my computers USB port using the OEM Motorola USB cable and it goes and installs the phone as a Motorola USB modem which I can clearly see in the Device Manager. Now when I run PST, it says new device found and installs a UBC Composite Device, however it never allows me to point to the 4 drivers that I have unzipped to a certain location. Then it complains "there were problems and I get a a yellow check mark against the USB Composite Device for the driver not being installed properly. The driver its trying to install is C:\Windows\System32\drivers\usbccgp.sys. It also now removes the USB Motorola Modem from the device driver list. I tried deleting this driver, however it keeps appearing in the same location.
I have tried shutting the phone down, reconnecting back, using different computers etc ... but cannot get the phone to connect using PST and PKSeem. Can anyone shed some light.
Update ... I re-installed PST 7.2.3 and let it do the WindowsXP update and then rebooted the computer. Applied the unipatch. This time after I connected the phone to the computer via the USB cable, I confirmed the Motorola USB modem was there in the Device Driver list and then I did Start -> Programs -> Motorola PST -> Flash & Test Commands. Sure enough it found new composite USB device, however this time it asked me for location to install the 4 drivers and I pointed it to the unzipped files I downloaded from Mark Venture's site and I was good to go. Fired up SD Modified p2kseem and saw the connected at the bottom of the p2kseem window and did the seem edits.
Thanks for all the valuable posts from everyone. Couldn't have done this without your help.
are the seems listed on marks page the only seems available for the v710 or are there others? if so does anyone know where a complete list may be found?

Well, in bold letters at the top of Mark's Seem Edit page, it has...
Here's another success story. I have had the cable for a while (eBay Motorola cable) now but just a couple days ago got my 512mb TransFlash card. I followed the directions found on Josh Cross' site and had the seem edited for BT file transfer pretty quick.
Silly me, the only thing that threw me off was I didn't have it temporarily enable bluetooth on the phone so it couldn't get detected by my PC. But once I remembered that (15 minutes later), it works great.
The only thing I don't like at the moment is that I right clicked to create a new folder for the audio and it was default created as "new folder". And now it won't let me delete that folder (wouldn't let me rename it). Anyone comment on getting rid of it?
Not sure what you mean by not clicking on it. How else can I delete it? It's located in My Bluetooth Places\Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood\Motorola Phone\OBEX File Transfer\MMC(Removable)
I've been looking at all the threads and kind find the answer. Got the USB/Bluetooth. When I try to connect via the connection wizard, from my laptop, it finds my E815, then the E815 asks for the Bluetooth Passkey(PIN). What is that PIN?
