When i open the PST flash and test commands it searches for wibubox, but apperantly doesnt find it because at the bottom it says invalid WIBU key and does not display my device. i also cant install the patch for pst, it says file access error when trying to install the patch. since p2k is working i wanna know if i can still write the edited seem 2742 to the phone without hosing it.. if anybody can help me get PST working i would appreciate it
I believe you can still edit because just about the same thing happened to me and the seem edit worked fine. give it a try

Alright, I have installed PST 7.1.1 and have been using MPT 3.25b for most of the day.

When I start p2k it never says connected, it stays on not connected, even though MPT is working.

Any suggestions? (BTW, I am running XP SP1.)

You CANNOT run PST and MPT at the same time. In order to run P2K, run PST and then run P2K. It will connect to your phone. If you do not get an automatic connection to your phone with PST, disconnect and reconnect your phone, and it should then be recognized.

Ah, that's embarassing! After rereading the directions that I posted I realized I just got my acronyms mixed up. Now while running PST p2k connects fine.

Is it okay to leave it enabled? Or should I only enable it when I'm going to be using it?

sclark1000 - Special thanks for making this tutorial so noob-friendly. I got everything to work. I really appreciate it.

    Usb Driver?????

this may be a very elementary question on this forum... but i'm having trouble just initializing the phone with MPT. i've upgraded to 3.25b version, but the PC is still not initializing the phone. someone suggested that i may need a USB driver. how do i get this? is this right? i simply want to sync my phone with the PC (outlook contact/calendar). i'm not even at the hacking stage. can someone help?

I'm not asking for anyone to supply me with the PST 7.1.1, (though it would be nice), but I've found a bunch of files of it on Limewire to download, and my only concern is the size of the file.

On Limewire, the size of the PST 7.1.1 file is somewhere around 850 KB zipped. Is this way too small? Is it probably a trojan?

So basically I'm just asking what the file size of a zipped PST 7.1.1 should be. Thanks.

Did you install the E815 drivers - look at #5 under "waht you will need" on the first page of this thread? Look here for additional assistance on the usbser.sys files: http://zano6.home.att.net/V710_BitPim.htm . This was written for the V710, but the same applies with the E815.

that's what i'm trying to do. but the step #5 doesn't seem to address the driver. i tried downloading the e815 driver, but it opens up a hundred files in this Zip file. which file do i actually want? all the other steps don't seem to apply to what i'm doing, since i'm not trying to Seem edit. i just want to access the regular MPT functions. or do i have to "hack" the phone in order to just initialize?

I've been using 6.7, albeit you aren't really _using_ PST at all...you're just using the drivers. I have an updated set of PST drivers too tho, so that might explain my success even with the old version. What I do is start up Phone Programmer, allow it to detect my phone in that mode (detects test interface, etc. etc.) and then I bust out that seem editor program. If I were to try flashing the phone I would definetly upgrade my PST.

Plug in the phone, point to the driver folder and let all the components install. Now you can add the E815 to MPT and all the 'regular' functions should work without the seem edit.

    Final Revision

The updated FAQS are ready and will be uploaded to post # 1 when I hear back from Moderator HF 9. This will be the FINAL REVISION.

I re-read the entire thread and through all your pms & suggestions, many of which will be included. It is now more user friendly and complete. Most of you are finishing the steps just fine; the problems some people are having come down to a few consistent items; those issues are addressed as well.

With this revision, I feel there is no more to be done on the topic; therefore, I'm moving on to my next project at this time. Follow the FAQS, read through the thread and you will get it done. When complete, you are ready to progress to customizations and more advanced hacks; a lot of information is available right here at HoFo.

THANKS FOR THE HELP EVERYONE AND ENJOY THE MIGHTY MOTO THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE!!!

i know this sounds really dumb, but how do i actualy do this? i thought i was more tech savvy than this, but it's not coming to me. i saved the Driver Zip file from Page #1 in the MPT folder. i tried running the Zip file and it opens up the hundred or so files. i can't actually install anything. do i save all the files in a newly created folder? what program do i use to install and "point to the driver folder"?
