I saw some questions regarding the size of images to create for wallpapers floating around the forum.
176X220
gets you what you need.
I propose that we add additional information to the first post in the thread to avoid tons of searching through this thread which Im sure will become very large. Ie the info that ekco posted regarding the banner seem edits should go in the first post (assumeing its not stickied)
I agree...anything that isn't part of a FAQ needs to be deleted while all information regarding seem editing, bluetooth installation, banner changing, wallpaper size, skins, etc. remains in the thread....maybe a table of contents would be nice to keep everyone from thumbing through 10 pages of nothing to find 1 thing. My thread isn't a sticky yet....I requested it to be one though.
Hey guys,
I followed all the directions, and heres the problems I am having. I have all the software, all updated as well. In MPT, when i go to setup, new phone, if i choose bluetooth, theres 2 options to pick. The first is "install the bluetooth usb pc adapter now" and the second is "use another bluetooth adapter installed" Now, my laptop has built in bluetooth, and it sees the phone no problem.
If I choose the first option, it will just ask me to reboot my computer, and doesnt seem to change anything. The second, does not seem to connect. I dont care really, if I can still use a data cable, which connects fine to MPT.
My second issue is with PST. I have the ver. listed, and when i go to open "pst phone programmer", the shortcut it placed on my desktop, it will say looking for motorola phone, and then load up the program, but it never loads anything inside the program. Any ideas? thank you

Dam, that was some kind of journey: I had at one point to go here http://zano6.home.att.net/V710_SeemEdit.htm
so that page could hold my hand at the start, then the rest went like a piece of cake:
I must have done hundreds of hex editings b4 and helping peeps with hijackthis pick thru their windows registry to kill virus and spyware, but i must admit, i was on the edge of my chair for awhile.
Problem i had was with PST running the other DEVICES in Device Manager wasn't showing up, so what i done was EXACTLY! as outline in that link above and pull the cable and reinsert it "afresh". THEN they showed up, that's the part that can throw you off in mystery street for a moment.
Thanks to the author of that walk-thru above and this Quick-Start Guide. You guys have got this down to a science i tell ya.

Where is the USB driver from the E815 USB driver download
Greetings?
I have downloaded E815 USB drivers referenced at the beginning of this thread. I can not find a setup or install application. I do not see a folder identifyed as E815 USB drivers. I have tried using driver update and browsing through sub folders in E815Drivers\Motorola\MotoConnect and can not find a valid driver. Could someone please tell me either how to install the USB driver package or the actual driver name that I can browse to in driver update.
Second, a similar problem with Mobile Phone Tools 25b. After downloading the archive, what application do I run to install the package?
I applied those couple edits and everything but still not noticed a "New Multumedia Icon" in the column when opening and after initializing E815 with MPT. Is this something exclusive for bluetooth access only or does this also apply to USB?
And if so, what could be off-target here? This is interesting........
Click Finished & Ok. Shut down mpt. Shutdown & restart phone; start mpt. After initialization, you’ll see the new & beautiful Multimedia Studio icon in the tool bar on right. Joy!

It applies to both Bluetooth AND USB cable.
Durring BT install, you have to MANUALLY Pick your phone and select E815M.
HOWEVER during USB Cable install, MPT "auto-detects" the phone by reading info from it. It then says "Ok this is a E815" and you get no Multimedia Studio icon. So with USB, you have to go back into the setup menu's and manually change your phone to E815M to get multimedia studio.
Done that: Well, for some reason after applying the edits and rebooting everything when MPT is opened it "initializing" and stuck there now:
Under Communications TAB: Modem Settings: Mine reads E815m
Anyone have another idea? I suppose i could dump MPT momentatily and reinstall it again and go from scratch that way and try it, but this is strange
why it wants to just hang on "initializing" where with the stock seem it didn't wait like that. I been using the same profile thru-out the day, should i create a new one?
I haven't changed USB ports yet, you think that would really make a difference?
Man, if nothing else, i was really hoping to get this MultiMedia-Studio thing up and active at the very least. This is working me up to a huge appetite tonight. LoL
I try to install, PST and get to the "restart now" screen, click ok, then get a few errors about having SP2, then the installation stops responding.
I cancel out, try the pst_uni_patch and launch the program. It stays on "detecting modem" for a few moments and the program comes up. It seems it does not find my modem because it has all the options grayed out like "read data from modem".
If I try to launch p2kseem and it never connects.
Can anyone help?
Also, I can't uninstall PST, it gives me an error.
I'm far from an expert on those programs but encountered enough aggravation today where i can suggest a few things to try.
READ FROM THIS URL: http://zano6.home.att.net/V710_SeemEdit.htm
The main one is "Reboot", just do a simple restart of your PC and go at it again:
I'm on XP Pro SP1 btw. Today when i tried to get P2K to start and it wouldn't just like you i was stumped. PST was running "minimized" (both must be running).
In between getting these proggies up and opened i rebooted to flush the memory and get a fresh start on things again, and also whenever running into where something wasn't working right at first. Windows is a funny beast sometimes.
After pulling my hair out over it awhile i decided to pull the USB cable from the port and simply reinsert it (without a reboot), at-once those Extra Devices talked about in this Topic "Finally" appeared under DEVICE MANAGER:
You simply MUST check Device Manager to be certain they are there after re-plugging the cable in if you want to try that. It worked for me, and when i opened P2K again it was ready to go. This is just a trial method that worked for me today, your circumstance may be different so i would stay close to this forum for your answer from the experts at this.

After I installed PST I also got the SP2 errors. I ignored them and also ignored the Restart message and everything still worked fine. I never installed the uni patch.. I wasn't sure what it was for. All I wanted to be able to do was Seem edits for MMS server and to remove banners. I'm not messing with Bluetooth yet. So anyway after installing PST and ignoring everything and immediately running P2K SD version or whatever it didn't connect. So I closed both apps then opened PST again and thats when it prompted to for driver installation in which I pointed it to the e815 driver folder and let it find the drivers on its own. It did this a few times for a few different devices. When it was done I opened P2K and it Connected. And I seemed away.

Thanks fareal i believe this will help me out also, so if i understood correctly each time a set of drivers are being asked for just point it to the "e815 drivers" that have been supplied on the forums... i just want to make sure i have every angle covered before i proceed with the hack, because i really dont want to hose this beauty. thanks very much
