    Switching the Howard Forums

Hi all, I'm thinking of switching the Howard Forums from ezboard to vbulletin board. What this means is you'll all have to reregister your information (most likely) but in return you'll have a lot more features and hopefully the forums will be more robust. I've decided to do this now because the forums are growing at a really fast rate and well, it's easier to do this now than in 6 months right? Like I said you'll have to reregister but I'll manually transfer all old messages. So what do you people think? Yes or No?

    re :

Why swich to vbulletin, there are much better FREE downloadable cgi boards than that.

These are a two Ive used :-

    www.ikonboard.com/

    yabb.xnull.com/

You could use a free server also such as.. www.hobbiton.org .. which is a really fast server, with a cgi-bin to put your perl files in etc...

This server is much quicker than ez board, also the boards are better looking and more options by far.

I have no compliant with the EZboard.

I think this site has been excellent.

If you think it is better and has more features then why not?

Thanks for all the hard work.

It seems to be great as it is here on EZBoards...sometimes I do notice a little slowdown but that's expected when you've got so many people comin' on the the boards reading and posting...

Change is good, I am sure you weighed out the options. Re registering is not a big deal to me. I am all for more options. EZboards do sometimes run at snail speed... Whatever you choose I'll be there

    Better now than later

As my OIC (officer in charge) once told me, we can pay the piper now,or we can pay him later... In the end, we all pay anyway. Bottom line is, if you've weighed the options, and now is better than later, then go for it... :-)

Yes, I think it's better to change now then later. This way, less message for you to tranfer over. Also new members that register later on, don't need to go through all the hazzle of registering again, like us.

Last but not least, I love the ezboard, and if the new board has better features, I really can't wait till you change over.

Use UBB. Much better. Actually vBulletin isn't that bad.

Just out of curiosity, for the people who think there are better boards what is better about them?
