I have a JRT mixed with a Lhasa and we have a little baby swimming pool in the backyard for him.
First time he went in, we put a ball in the pool (floats) and he kept pushing it down with his paw, once it sank down, he tried to stick his face in to grab it but he started to breathe in the water. poor dog, so for the next little while he wouldn't even go near the pool, he was scared of it.
Next time we got him in there, he was smart enough to just stick his head under the water, but most of the time he just splashes with his paws over and over again until all the water is out of the pool.
Sam(mini daschund) hates even getting his feet wet. I have no pics sorry He's a little wussy.
Awww, poor sam. Slink (Sam's long lost twin) swam the other day. Supposedly (from what I heard) he liked it. Didn't freak out or anything. I'll have to see for myself sometime.
I have a little Golden Retriever who adores the water. I go to the beach regularly, and she's always out there, doggy paddling (literaly. Until the first time I saw a dog swim, I thought people were making it up that they swam like that).
Still, she likes big, open water areas, like pools, lakes, etc. Not small ones, like the tub I try to get her to have her bath in. I usually get more wet than her when trying to bathe her!
I'm thinking about starting to give her baths in my pool, just so she'll be more cooperative! Heh
my rabbit doesnt really like getting wet. hes an outdoor rabbit and lives in the backyard, so whenever it rains here, we put him inside for the night. and when its hot outside, sometimes i spray him with the hose and he just darts away as fast as he can. its kinda cute when hes we though
My dog hates it when I give him a bath. Everytime I tell him call him to take a bath, he runs in the opposite direction. When I come over he is on his back in his "defensive" position
