Here are images taken by the enV Touch and enV3.
They alternate between the Touch and enV3.
As you can see, there isn't a big difference between them, except that the Touch has AutoFocus, which helps on the Macro images.
Flash images also look better on the Touch.

It's been a while since I've updated this thread.
I got the Omnia yesterday to review, but my friend purchased the Touch Pro a few days ago.
I was able to use both to take some picture comparisons.
Keep in mind the Omnia is 5MP and the Touch Pro is 3.2MP.

Here are a few pictures I took using the V9m.
They are by no means as good as images taken by the Maxx, enV, or A990.
But they are better than the VX8700.

Colors look good, but the overal image detail is soft and fuzzy.

Here are a few pics taken by the LG enV (VX9900).
It was very cloudy outside, so that's why they look a bit dark.
The pics look as good or better than the VX8000, and almost as good as the A990.
The A990 has an "Auto Flash" where it will turn on Automaticly, where on the enV you have to turn the flash on or off.
LG did a good job with the 2MP cam with Autofocus, but it still takes 2-3 sec for it to focus, just like the A990.
Videos can be recorded in 320x220 on the enV and A990, which is a plus, but only the A990 will turn the flash on and use it as a video recorder light.

Ok guys, I got an A990 today.
Here are MY PICS taken using it.
Auto Focus was turned ON. Flash was turned OFF except for the last pic.
It's hard to say if I like the VX8000 or A990 pictures better.

OK. Here are the pictures that I took today with my VX8000 and VX8300.
I went into the Camera Options on both phones and had settings on "Auto".
The 8300 was in my right hand and the 8000 was in my left. Pictures were taken at the same time.
There was no shutter lag on either phone (I know the 8100 does have a shutter lag problem).

As you will see, the VX8000 is the clear winner.
It looks like the VX8300 still has some Iris problems causing some pictures to be too dark.
This was a problem with the VX8100 that I tried last year (see here).
It also looks like the VX8300 has problems with the White Balance.
It was set to Auto, but I tried the other settings "Sunny" and "Cloudy". Those made it look worse, so I
changed it back to "Auto".

Picture will alternate between VX8300 and VX8000.

This first group of pics I took today with the VX8100 and VX8000.
I had one phone in each hand and took the pic at the same time.
Both are using Auto White Ballance and ISO is set to Auto.

I think the main problem with the camera on the VX8100 is the iris is closing too much when taking pics outside.
This is what causes the image to be too dark.

you know when i look at the 8100 side by side next to the 8000, it really sucks

I was all set on getting this phone too. The pics look way too dark and blurry.

What are the major reasons to not get the 8000 over the 8100? Is it just size and bluetooth?

I know that the 8100 is a cell phone and not a camera and that you can't really compare the 8000 to the 8100 because they use different photo sensors but the camera in the 8100 is a p.o.s. .There is no way in hell a phone that retails for $439 should take pictures that bad.I also doubt that software fixes will help it all that much either.

but the 8000 is a cell phone too. i'm trying to decide which phone to get, e815, 8000 or 8100 and right now I don't know why i shouldn't get the 8000...is it just bluetooth and boxy look?

To me, out of the ones listed here, I think the VX8000 takes the best pics.

No argument, 8000 takes better pictures. But to me, its irrelevant, I'm still getting the 8100. If I wanted a brick phone, I'd get a Nextel
(just kidding, all, don't flame me!)

It blows me away how good those 8000 pics are. It is clearly the best camera phone Verizon has right now.

The VX8100 that I got yesterday (thanks to Roc a Fella) was for a friend of mine. I'll give it to him on monday. In the mean time, I wanted to try it out and see if I liked it.

I do like using the miniSD card, but since the pics aren't any good, might as well not even have a cam. I like the size of the phone better, but the external display isn't quite as good as the 8000s.
The MP3 MID player is nice, but you have to keep the phone open in order to play the files. You can't use the REW/Play/FF buttons on the flip.
I don't have bluetooth, so can't try that.

It just seems like LG cut too many corners in order to add the miniSD slot and Bluetooth, so that the price would be afordable at 2year pricing.
To me, the BEST thing they could of done was take a 8000 and add a miniSD slot to it!

I agree, what's the point in having an miniSD if your camera doesn't take very good pics? I guess you can store mp3s on it, but that's not a bug advantage to me. the 8000 does not look good though and it feels big. that is the major advantage the 8100 has, plus bluetooth.

After 5 seconds, the image is way to dark.
The only way around this is to take the picture before the iris starts to close up. That is why "some" of the vx8100 pics (the plant outside) aren't so dark.

It is unusual for an iris to behave this way...it's not like an eye, they usually adjust in less than a second or two. I wonder if they'd fix this in software.

people are complaining that the battery life sucks too. i've waited for it soo long only to find that it sucks.

You can always change the brightness settings manually if it's too dark....

By doing this, your pics on the 8100 will be almost as good as the 8000.
