    macace:

It's not working.. using the USB cord. It recognizes the phone.. under network in sys prefs itdoes mention "Motorola Phone (V300)" or something to that extent.. but why would the telephone number be wap.voicestream.com? tried that, didn't work. tried *99# , didn't work either. on the modem tab am i supposed to do something? when i say it 'didn't work' i mean it would try to connect, then shortly afterward disconnect.. saying there was an error.

could you please explain in more detail?

well, those arent the right scripts for motorola v300.. so I got the scripts for "motorola GPRS" from that website.. then i copied one of them into the appropriate folder, and used it in the "Modem" tab when configuring the phone. well it CONNECTS when using wap.voicestream.com as the phone number. But the only thing I can get to display on the browser is what seems to be a WML page (wap-compatible) with what seem to be some links to other (something).voicestream.com url's.. it's strange. and internet2.voicestream.com disconnects after attempting to authenticate.

Btw i don't have any internet addon whatsoever.. but i do remember that a while back, i somehow got my phone working without an internet addon with my windows pc... couldn't get it working 100% but it did seem to work partially..

anyway... would getting the $5.99 "T-Mobile Web" thing allow one to go to any website?

internet2 is for the 19.99 plan. nothing else will work for it. strange that the 3g scripts dont work with the v300... worked just fine with my non-3g v600 =\ maybe it was the usb cable. anyways, as far as things go, you need to use the proxy to get anything else than a wap page to display instructions are also included above. sorry about the driver mix-up. if anyone else needs the REGULAR drivers, they can all be obtained (and many more as well) from http://www.taniwha.org.uk

    good luck

oh, well i didn't try the 3g drivers because I looked at that website and saw that there were different drivers which appeared to be more suitable for my phone.

plus I did use the HTTP Proxy thing as you described.. and put in 8080 after the colon ( ; for the port I guess? but it still had that page showing up in Safari. Firefox for some reason didn't want to load anything.

    thanks for the help btw.

the 3g modem scripts caused the same result; the wap page appeared.

I've added "T-MobileWeb" and it still hasn't seemed to be active yet but it said it could take up to 24 hours for it to start working, so I'm not worried.

so will the only open port be 8080?

no, the 8080 proxy is to get around the WAP-only data access that t-mobileweb provides. no doubt the 3g scripts would provide the same result, just glad that they worked! that way i dont have to pm a mod to edit the tutorial as far as things go, it can take anywhere from 2 minutes to 3-4 days to get that addon to take effect ( a real pain in teh rear, i know)
    good luck!
