I really dont want to sound like a new-b but i am going to so dont make fun! Ok I just bought a a630 from t-mobile along with the 5.99 unlimited e-mail news and all that jazz. I was trying to figure out how to download those scripts into the modem folder and couldn't figure out how to do it I am using a ibook G3 with mac os x 10.2.8! The bottom line is I wanna figure out if these are even compatible with each other! And how in the most simple way to get the script into the folder! I am used to windows and am ok with the mac os! I could just use some guidance.....![]()

Thanks a TON!!
I had this going with my 3650 awhile ago. When I got my sk2, there was no need (and no bluetooth, heh).
My RAZR should be here once TMobile get its shipping act together and this was going to be one the new setup challenges. Internet anywhere makes the 1.5 hour daily commute go by faster.
Thanks again.
I just got a RAZR and my phone before was a sk2. I got mine to work but I only have the 5.99 plan so I cant view much.
Followed the guide to the letter, but I'm still having a problem.
(btw: Motorola razr v3, no mods, and osx tiger)
I set everything up and hit connect. The phone links to my computer, and the status goes from Dialing, to Connecting, then Hangs on Authenticating, and then disconnects saying that I need to check my ppp settings.
I have the 19.99 plan, so I used internet2.voicestream.net as the phone number. Any ideas?
do u ahve the VPN plan? try internet3.voicestream.com. then try a different CID if tha tone is failing.
no VPN plan, just the 19.99 plan from when I had my sidekick2.
I tried both modem scripts. I just talked to a friend who said that when he was setting up his connection with a 3650, he had to turn of tcp header compression. When I get home tonight I'll try that as well....
It just seems telling to me that it specifically fails on the Authentication part of the connection process.
thats the problme. the sidekick uses a different plan than the regular internet apn's.
call and cancel the esidekickk plan and add on the VPN plan.
happy trails!
Same price, 19.99?
you bet!![]()
do i have to install the nokia pc suite to tether?
Well, for data only. Nobody can beat their unlimited price. So I called and got a GC79 and pay $30 a month for their services. I am not going to use the card tho, I have a unlocked GC83 to use with it. Hopefully where I travel would have T-Mobile EDGE coverage...hehe..
Thanks for the instructions. They worked with my Powerbook running Tiger 10.4.2 and my V330.
I wanted to run a speed test, but it seems unable to make the connections. I don't know what port it's trying to use and I'm on the 5.99 plan. Which is pretty cool and either we have EDGE or GPRS isn't as bad as I've heard (in Chelsea, NYC). Does anyone know of a good site to run a speed test?
Also, does anyone know of a list of blocked (or open) ports on the 5.99 plan?
BTW, who is actually running this proxy? Is there a secure proxy server out there somewhere?
interesting thread.. all scrpits and walkthroughs mentioned in these posts only seem to apply to computer configs only.
i have a razr v3 and a palm t5, which ive been trying to config to use T-MobileWeb 5.99 account i have for email downloading. the default settings for cingular account i have were just fine and i was connecting in no time. for t-mobile however i get a cycle of connection and authenticaltion over and over again.. bluetooth pairing is successful. can anyone help?
