I realize that in a previous thread i said I would scan the document given to me by my boss. What I didn't realize is that the document said, "Proprietary information not to be discolsed outside of verizon wireless or it's affiliates"
So, here are some "rumors" about new phones that are substantiated by things I MIGHT have seen.
Phones:
LG VX2000 - sched release for late NOV early DEC
Entry level candybar phone
1x capable
e991 capable
changeable detailings similar to faceplates
Link here for full product details and instruction manual in PDF format
Audiovox 8300x currently available from VZW in select markets
try zip code 55125.
Two-way speaker phone
1x capable
user changeable ringtones and screen savers
VAD/Voice notes
Kyocera 2325
Not much mentioned about this phone except brew and a late november release date which will probably be pushed back a couple of weeks to mid december.
Now available in select markets from VZW at an exceptionally exorbant price of 350 on a two year contract *WTF Verizon*
use the zipcode 55125 and view details on verizon's website. According to the paper i have it was slated for release on OCT 15th but was pushed back a month and 6 days. probably due to software issues.
LG VX4400
The phone is supposed to be out at the end of this month but with all the pushbacks of the other colored screen phones it wouldn't surprise me to not see it until early december.
and last but not least... the phone with a rep for being a phantom the v60x/e. The product sheet has it listed as an X but the spec sheet has it listed as an e so I don't know which one it will be sold under.
I have posted on this before and I am posting one last time on this phone:
Motorola V60x/e
1x capable
brew capable
e911 capable
changable faceplates like the i version
downloadable ringtones
Fixed antenna
This phone is to the V60's as the 120e is to the v120's there is not going to be a colored screen. There are only a few enhancements to bring the 60 series phones into the next gen with 1x brew and the required e911 that verizon seems to be madly introducing in their new phones.
unfortunately I don't have a link to this phone as motorola has not released one, but those of you who have purchased the t720 will notice the little green accessories flyer that came with the phone mentions that the faceplates for the I version also fit the E/X version of the phone. Also, if you read through howard's phone review he has some pictures of the outside of what would supposedly be a demo model.
All the other phones on the list of phones I have are already released. i have no news on phones after the first of the year, but I'm hoping to see some nice EV-DO units.
Awesome, Pattwak. I guess I'm forced to admit the existence of the v60e/x.
Nice that the 2325 is coming out soon as well. I'm trying to get my gf to switch from ATT to VZW, and she's so attached to her t68, so if I can get her a decent candybar that would be cool. For some reason she won't do flips. I've been hoping that VZW would offer a color candybar soon, but it looks like no dice there. I like Kyocera, anyway. 3035 is a nice phone but she doesn't like the joystick-type control. I don't suppose you've heard any other rumors?
Very cool of you to share your discreet observations.
Originally posted by roc a fella Are you saying that the 720 faceplates fit the v60e or the current v60i's fit the new v60e?
I didn't write a very good explanation of that. In the booklet I got with my T720, there was a little green accessory flier. On the covers for the v60i it said that they were compatible with the v60e/x.
From the pictures I've looked at they are showing the v60x/e to be the same style, size, colors as the v60i. The addition of 1x, brew, e911 and a stubby antenna are about all I see that's different.

The V60e is supposed to have a outside caller id display that is double the size of the current v60i.
dang you're right. the motorola sign is grafted a bit high on the v60i faceplate. it won't allow room for another line of display if they say the v60i faceplates are suppose to be compatible. unless the v60x/e display won't have anything in the middle of the bottom line of display. like have just the signal strength on the left and battery meter on the right. then it could work. then again im just speculating.

There is no way that it would fit.
I'm only quoting information I saw from a motorola document. They may have changed the specs from the two line call ID display to a one line. Who knows, but the flier I have states the faceplates are the same??

Well today was the official launch of the two new audiovox branded phones. the 8300 and the 9500 which are hyundai and toshiba phones respectively.
Phonescoop also now displays the LG VX2000 as being available for verizon but I tried over 50 different zips from major metros in the 1x markets and was not able to find it listed on their website. Makes me wonder if perhaps it's only an over the phone phone
Chatted with a VZW store manager, who had a district meeting earlier with Kyocera reps. He said that the 7135 is set to launch after Christmas. He also said that Kyocera counted about 14,000 customers that want to buy this phone. Price will be in the US $700 range initally
He was impressed with the 7135, and didn't seem to worry too much about the high initial price, as he feels there are enough people that will buy the phone at the $700 price point to make it successful initially. However, he was quite bummed that it won't come out in time for Christmas shoppers, feeling that he could move a good number of them.

Let's hope that they get all the nasty bugs worked out. I had a chance to demo one for about a half a day. As a phone it was "ok" as a palm it was less then desireable. There were a few kinks that still needed to be worked out. I'm hoping that Kyocera is taking some initiative here to put out a decent palm phone and not just release it full of bugs and issues. Cause if I'm going to shell out $700 dollars I sure as he11 don't want to have to send my phone back for software upgrades every other day *a little dramatic I know* just to finally get a phone that is worth having.
