Cracked iTunes 25 song limit - but java programmer needed
I've found a way round the 25 song limit on the iTunes application, but I need somebody to make a program to make this crude process a little more automated.
Here's the idea behind it: There is a maximum of 25 songs that can be read from the iTunes folder on the TF. It is possible to rename this folder and create another with the same name (and rename the original) and use another set of 25 songs instead. By renaming these folders, it is possible to have more than 25 playable songs!
What the java program would need to do: Extract and copy the files within the java app to the TF (the files needed for a blank iTunes folder on TF), rename existing folders, with the option to have multiple sets (eg rename the folder to itunes1, itunes2, and on demand rename them back to itunes), and to restart either the phone or the iTunes app on the phone.
I found a way to fix this problem. Just change the numbers in the iTapp.bin file and then in your iTunes thats on your PC, click on your Phone / Mobile Phone Options / and unmark the option "Enable disk use"

Doesnt work. You can upload more than 25 songs, but iTunes will only read 25 of them.
Can you explain this steps a little bit better, I have to create another folder with the same name and than rename it to the same name that it was before ?
bloody apple and moto tightasses, limit the songs that we can put on our phones.... **** bastards
pretty good marketing strategy though on their behalf i guess. it'd mean that those who wouldn't be able to get their hands on a cracked version of iTunes (hopefully someone does crack it - nice work on ur 2 playlists idea though sh03y) will have to purchase the song upgrade from apple. but then, once we purchase it and we upgrade the firmware, wouldn't that mean we'd have to purchase the song upgrade again? o_O
EDIT: lol funny how they censor d.a.m.n but dont censor '*******' on teh forum
So has anyone else got this working? And what do you think are the prospects of getting it to work as a java app (or by any other means from the phone)?
throw me some ideas and how the 25 limit works and let me see if I can work out the logic and code. Not a supertastic coder but I'll see what I can do?

The 25 song limit is in the iTunes app itself, and we cannot alter and re-sign this. What I am asking is that someone make a java program that can rename files on the TF, functioning the same as my .bat file.
i know java but i dont think i know enough to do that, i never touched j2me even thought its simlar to java cept you cant use a few variables and stuff here and there

Graffix, I replied but it was deleted. Start a new thread if you want to hear it again.
@Shoey, why are you trying to do it through java, are you attempting to create a program on the phone to do it? Why not modify itunes itself on the PC?

As i said before, if we modify iTunes, we need to resign it, which we cant do.
We need something on the phone that can switch throught he 2 different playlists (think of them as partitions) on the TF
Do you really think that modifying something that small would require a resign?
But I guess if you need to switch through the 2 playlists, it would be simpler to do it that way.
So if your creating a new java app, though, wouldn't that mean you'd only be able to play 25 at a time through the itunes j2me app, and then have to switch it out with the second java app, and come back to java-tunes?
