we have no support from motorola.... its a simple firmware, its not a whole new phone, it doesnt have to be approved by the FCC..... plain and simple, motorola sucks!

well unfortunately i guess i should have had this post removed because i sent this petition to motorola a long time ago. however i do appreciate everyone's help. the reason i started this was becasue i was told by motorola that when i sent my phone to them that i was the only person to complain at the time and to send my phone in to show them the problems.

they sent my phone back to me 3 weeks later telling me that they could not find any problems.

anyway im sure not due to our petition but motorola released a software upgrade to verizon over a month ago and now all we can do is wait to see when verizon will let us have it. i am not sure what issues were fixed but hopefully at least the echo and the alarm.

    New E815 speakerphone echo development..

Here's a very interesting new development.....

For weeks I have been hounding Motorola about the E815 speakerphone echo problem. Their frustrating attitude has been "problem? what problem?" I then mentioned your petition and all the discussion group threads at HowardForums and elsewhere. To my great surprise, I got the following email message today:

    Dear Mr. ______,

Please accept my apology for the delay answering your inquiry.

Regarding the echo issue when using your E815, Motorola and Verizon are
in the process of releasing a fix for the problem. I am sorry I cannot
provide you the exact date that this fix will be available.

Please feel free to contact me direct at (847)496-xxxx if you wish to
    discuss further.

    Thank You,

It looks like all the complaints and correspondence has finally gotten us some attention. This is the first evidence I have seen where Motorola is actually acknowledging that they have a problem. Thanks for all your own efforts.

Software released to fix E815 speakerphone echo problem

Verizon Wireless approved Motorola’s software upgrade for the E815 on January 6, 2006. This new software is supposed to fix the speakerphone echo problem. The new software is 8720_01.1E.00

It is unclear whether some or all Verizon Wireless stores actually have this upgrade and are able to apply it. If anyone finds out, please post here.
