I think the model was an Ericsson DH353. It was 1996 and digital TDMA was really starting to take off over analog. It was one of the smallest Digital TDMA phone at the time. With the slim battery, it was even smaller than a Nokia 6190. Unfortunately, with the slim battery, it would die after about 20 min of talking!

My first phone was the original Motorola Flip from the early 90's it was an AT&T model that had digital but the digital was so bad that I used it in analog only mode.

Here is a picture I found of what they looked like

now put that in a leather case and strap it to your belt and you were the man, only problem was you had to carry a lead anchor in your other pocket to counter balance

My parents bought me some Audiovox phone in 2002.

Last year, I got a Nokia 3586i on my own credit, so I usually say that one.

Nokia 5160 on TDMA Cingular back in 99. I thought it was the coolest thing ever back then, especially with the xpress covers.
