Talking Wouldn't it be so cool if Verizon(all CDMA) and T-Mobile(all GSM) merged together?

Here's my random(and very crazy) thought of the day:

Wouldn't it be so cool if Verizon(all CDMA) and T-Mobile(all GSM)
    merged together?

    Think of the possibilities!

Both companies would fail because the users would kill each other off.,
    My Plan:
Simple Choice Unlimited Talk + Text + Web
    Line 1: Unlimited 4G Data + 500 MB HotSpot
    Line 2: 2.5 GB 4G data/HotSpot

    they should change to iDEN

actually, merging Verizon and T-Mo makes some sense because some people claim that 3G is actually CDMA2000 or W-CDMA, others -- that 3G is 2.5G+ (2.5G being GSM w/ GPRS), so eventually Verizon and T-Mo will converge to the same thing, namely 3G, whatever 3G is

What I was actually thinking was that T-Mo can roll out GSM
service on every Verizon tower around that nation... Just think
what kind of coverage that will be like!
