Thanks to all, I saved these settings and stored the text file in my mobile. Now I can surf in almost any country if I get a prepaid from them.

    new gd88

i just bought a brand spankin new gd88 from Rogers AT&T. now the settings that were default for "ROGERS WAP" were wrong. The cust serv rep @ IMS told me that the gateway IP was incorrect and that it was impossible to change those settings and my phone would have to be sent in for repair.
i've tried setting up a new profile which is exactly the same as what was listed on this thread. now this is was my phone does when i goto browser:
    Reception Failed
I get this error with ANY delay... not even a 1 nanosecond delay!
now I can click "Menu" while this error is displayed on the screen and I have the option to reload. When I hit reload, it starts to access the profile that I setup and after a while it simply comes back with the "Reception Failed" error. Now i've tried this in several areas. I'm able to make outgoing and incoming calls and I do have a signal showing on the phone that the GPRS is available and ready to use.
Just today I reentered all the information and tried it again, it still comes up with the reception failed error as soon as i hit the "start browser" button, but after hitting reload and it searching the network I finally got this new error "GPRS services unavailable". this i'm assuming is due to the blackout in toronto but i still want to know if any of you guys have had this problem. and if there is a way to reset the phone.

just to let you know, i have tried my sim card in another rogers at&t gd88 phone which was sitting in the store and browser worked perfectly on it. this confirms that all the data services i need to access GPRS are enabled on my account.

thanks in advance for all the help

    ATT Wireless

Profile Name: Whatever, I put mMode
    Home URL: http://home
Linger Time: 240 (default in phone btw)
    Gateway IP: 010.250.250.250
    Security: Secure
    Bearer Type: GPRS

    GPRS Settings:
    AccessPointName: proxy (Lower case all)
    User ID: (leave blank)
    User Password: (leave blank)
    Authentication: Encrypted

Dont forget to click on GPRS and choose "set" to activate it. And as you go back to your browser, the profile you just edited has to be "set" as well. The set option comes up when you hit menu on both GPRS or the profile.

    goin nuts

i've been goin nuts tryin to figure this out. i've checked the settings a million of times. i've tried different settings like setting the auth to non-secure and vice versa. i've made sure that i press set on gprs and then set on the profile that i want to use.
as soon as i press the "start browser" button, WITHOUT ANY DELAY it says "reception failed" and then i click "menu" and hit "reload" and then after trying to connect for a while it says "Connection failed".

any other suggestions? has anyone else had this trouble with the gd87/88?

Seems to me that you have done a firmware upgrade, but you forgot to do a CB2000 memory erase. It is pretty easy. You can find many threads about it,. If you have trouble, let us know, and we will point one out for you I am sure. In CB2000 you go to DATA write phone, and settings, and there you choose memory erase. After this you will loose all of your contacts from the phonebook, and MMS SMS E-mail, WAP settings. Whatever is in the Data folders will remain.

    Hope it helps....
