since the opera mini requires the server side to process the page before the client download... i wonder if the client program is pointing to the service provider in norway (??) tv2.no (?).
i wonder if they would find out all the suddent they had the load increased 500%. heheh
I have Rogers and a s710a and it works awesome. A little slower than s60 running the same thing though. My phone is unlocked. In the applications menu in the s710a, click more when you have the opera highlighted and it will give you the options for internet settings for the opera program
Once installed in the Applications dir quit the WAP browser and load the proggy.
This link will work for 24 hrs, so work fast
I've been trying to get Opera mini up and running on my S710a with no luck... believe me, I've tried everything. It seems that you're the only one who can make it happen! Would you be willing to repost those files?
I wondered this too, but having had a good search through the Opera Mini homepage at www.opera.com it appears that the compression server activity takes place at Opera HQ, and the norwegian provider is just the first to offer it and the first to set up a portal for it. If you look in the homepage they have a quote from some business reviewer in the US - if it was only for Norway they'd be unlikely to feature that on their homepage.
So I think once you have it working, you're safe from having it disappear just because some norwegian guy gets pissed off!

i dont like the opera mini that much, it cant handle a lot of the wap pages that i visist.. most of the links that are in the page dont show as link, only as text!
for example: wap.vader.se (swedish weather site) only the two linkls at the botton works, not the other..
maybe it´s because it´s no supposed to be used with wap pages, but with web??? OMFG lol
that's polite.
Phat^Trance, use your standard mobile browser for WAP sites. the encoding is just different (as necessary) to confuse an HTML recoder.
you may want to give your weather page's standard HTML page a try using OM. then compare it to the WAP version and go with the one you like.
i continue (heh, only been a day!) to use both OperaMini and my N6230's onboard. which one i got to depends on what i'm going to look at. that, and i can reach Cingular's WAP portal with one key press, whereas OM takes 4, including a 2 second wait for the handset to access Collection.
