Opera Mini should now work.
it appears that the compression server activity takes place at Opera HQ
perhaps they'll be empowered and informed, and they'll track the IPs sending recode requests to their servers. then, with these "demographic findings", they can approach NA and Euro providers, and offer OperaMini to them for inclusion in future handsets. or for a piece of that sweet pie...
what carrier wouldn't want smaller pages funneling through their bandwitdh?
what carrier wouldn't want a browsing experience so pleasant that subscribers unblinkingly include a fat web package to their monthly service?
what carrier wouldn't be able to charge almost anything for this?
in fact, this idea benefits so many parties that i'm almost sure it'll never happen!
Well, I believe that Opera has caught wind of this leaking out. I can't use the browser for any site as of a half-hour ago. Everything I type in, including all my bookmarks, take me to a porn search site.
LOL. I did get that porno site when I went on a Yahoo site: "advances and declines" on Yahoo Finance. All other URLs, including the Yahoo ones, were fine though. I just deleted that specific URL and reentered it. Fine for the time being.
It could be a hacker. When I go on secure web sites to access my brokerage accounts, I'm able to do so, but it says that this is not a secure site. I don't get that when I use my Palm to access these sites via WebPro or Blazer. So, just be careful. I wouldn't do online banking using Opera ( I doubt that's possible) or make trades using an online brokerage account.
Can someone explain to me what OPERA does? Obviously, you can connect to the internet etc etc, but I'm wondering how it does this. Will this work with no existing settings on my 750? will t-mobile charge me for using this?
I sure hope the original links still work in a few hours when I get home from work!

Um, Opera is a browser (like Internet Explorer or Mozilla) for your phone.
