CINGULAR BLUE REGIONAL MAPS
Knowing if you are roaming or not when you travel is a concern for users of regional plans. Since Cingular decided to leave blue customers in the cold without regional maps they can consult online, I decided to post some of them here.

wow so many gaps, no wonder i had no service in yosemite.
The only problem is that those maps are old (Cingular never updated them since they eliminated the regional plans). It's kinda unfortunate since they provide a lot more detail.
These are old maps - coverage is grossly overstated in AZ.
dah...nothing better in my area![]()

LG 5550 (Alltel) | Motorola v551 (Cingular) | Samsung A707 (Cingular) | Motorola Q9H (AT&T | 07-10) | Samsung Captivate (AT&T | Current)
Yeah those maps are guesses if anything. I'm in an "orange" area on the map and have zero coverage here in michigan. Even outdoors nothing for miles. Its all lit up orange on the map however.
There are so many threads on lack of coverage maps, I'm not sure where to post this.
Cingular towers only (not roaming coverage)

Very nice map system, but since I don't have Cingular (yet) I have no idea if it is accurate. Comments please?

Cingular is good
Verizon is evil
Looks like West Virginia has less coverage than a Third World country as far as GSM is concerned (Cingular+roaming partners). I guess I should have gone with GlobalStar satellite phone for use there, as at the rate things are going, large parts of WV may never get cellular at all (given the large holes there in other carriers' coverage area, whether its AMPS, TDMA, CDMA, or GSM). --just as it's de rigeur there to go satellite for TV, classical music, or any faster-than-dialup Internet.

This map also only shows GSM 1900 coverage whereas Cingular uses more GSM 850.
it'll get better (fingers crossed)...my firm is helping CW build out their 06 and 07 sites in socal...and just in socal alone, they plan to launch 500 sites this year, and the same for 06 and in 07. It's crazy
