Thanks so much for this thread, xtremein motion. I'm adding this to my subscribed threads just because its so simple, effective and helpful. I can't access Gmail, but you can use the My T-Mobile proxy with MS Outlook if you want to access your Gmail account.

Thanks again, I'm going to try that right now.
CDMA - a great technology, hobbled by greedy carriers and a closed business model. Its a pity, really.

    speed test

I have the motorola v635 phone. Those phone I listed are old, in my old profile. Anyway, I tried the speed test for my 5.99 t-zones using at+cgdcont=1,"IP","wap.voicestream.com" and got 7 kbit/sec in http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed *lol. It's "GPRS active" shown on the phone. Dawn slow. I swear I saw 90 kb/s on 19.99 internet using the at+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet2.voicestream.com" string.
    blah

Tethered, I got 107kbps on one speed test, then I chose a different test location, and I got <10kbps. That's a big variation, but it just shows how Tmobile's connections vary.

It seems as though you're not on EDGE yet.

This is the test I used, the one with multiple locations. You have to be tethered though.

Its pretty simple - you just use the same settings you'd use on your phone. Go to the myemail section on myt-mobile and work from there. It worked great for me, now all I have to do is get my normal Gmail account on it (i'm using my cellphone's gmail account right now).

Mark, I wonder why you can't access gmail? I have no issues whatsoever accessing gmail while tethering... works perfectly fine.

I think moto's are the only one's that do (they still suck though).

@Kspecial: no problem accessing hotmail while tethered.

    Hotmail hates me.

Not only can I not do a web login, the HTTP mail service with Outlook Express doesn't work either.

Hey...wait a second, do you have the $19.99 internet plan ollywompus?
