New Motorolas and Lack of Quad Band??

I don't get why the new Motorola phones coming out don't support quad band GSM (PEBL, V3x, ROKR, etc).. what is up with that??

As a Cingular user, I for sure need both 850mhz and 1900mhz just for the United States.. as a person who goes to Europe, I need 900mhz and 1800mhz (although 1800mhz usage is RARE).. if they are going to make a triband phone for North America, why not make it 850/900/1900 rather than the standard 850/1800/1900???

Will someone please clue MOT in??

    simple,

motorola wants these phones to fail. it's a tradition, remember the sucessful tri-band v60? gave them too much market share and money, so they had to release the dual-band v70 to ensure nokia would remain dominant.

market failure is all part of motorola's master plan and a long-standing tradition with motorola.

1800 MHz is not at all rare in Asia. In Thailand, the largest provider, AIS. uses it.
