    Unsupported File Format? [Op Logo]

Hi! I created a blank Operator Logo using Logomanager yesterday and saved the file as "translogo.nlm".

Anyway, I tried several things to send it to my phone.

    1) I used email and attached the file and sent it to my tmomail.net email with no success. I had to try

    2) I tried sending the "translogo.nlm" file using the IrDA of my firend's laptop and it says "Unsupported file Format" and just reset the whole thing like nothing happened.

    3) I even created a WAP site which I was able to access through my 7210 but when I tried to download the file, I get the "Unsupported File Format" once again!

What am I doign wrong? Do I need to change the file name to a JPG or GIF file? e.g. "translogo.jpg"

And where should I save the translogo.nlm file in my phone?

I hope someone can shed some light on this. If someone gets this to work especially the WAP site I created I will leave the site on so anyone can just download the blank Operator Logo for my site. =)

    Thanks!

Not sure if you can get it straight to your 7210, as i think op logo's have to be sent by SMS-

Do this- take your 8390, connect it up to logomanager (ir/datacable whatever - you said you've got IR though, so shouldn't be a problem). Then make any logo you want, and send it by SMS via your 8390 to your 7210 ('send to another phone on the mobile network', or something): the important bit is - SET THE OPERATOR CODE TO 000 00. You'll find it under options, service provider. This means your 7210 will receive a white logo, or a white and black logo if you drew something, but since it'll not have been sent with the correct operator code, it won't know what to do and will just display a transparent logo instead.

Okie I am trying to send via SMS using Logomanager but it won't send. Do I need to fill something under Phonebook? I am using Logomanager here at work which has a firewall. Do Logomanager send the Op logo out to the network and not through the IrDA?

    Help!

Yup, it should send through your 8390, so your network connection is irrelevant.
    Alright - step by step!

Open logomanager, get it to recognise and connect with your 8390 via IRda connection.

Make sure you've got the operator logo shape active (View-->operator logo)

Then 'Send to another phone via the mobile network' - it's fifth button in from right on version 1.2.9. A window should pop up with some options in it:

Message centre- press the 'default' button and LGmanager should find the message centre number from your 8390.

The phone number is to be that of your 7210 - so either load up the phone book from your 8390 (press the button) and pick the number of your 7210 out of that, or else enter your 7210's phone number manually.

The box down the bottom should have the 'graphic' tag selected - it'll show the logo you are about to send below (doesn't matter if it's all green, or actually has a picture on it.) The 'Target network' bit is the important one - press 'network chooser' and select 000 00 - no operator. You also want the 'send immediately' checked.

Now just press send, and the logo should arrive in seconds, which'll be displayed as totally transparent due to the 'phone confusing' trick i mentioned earlier!

Let us know how you get on.

Okay! Im confused a bit... I do not have the Nokia 8390 here with me. I only have logomanager and the 7210. I had the 7210 connect to the laptop so can i still send the op logo to my 7210?

Sorry for making this complicated. hehehe

Oh I am running LogoManager Version 1.2.41

What you're effectively doing is sending an operator logo by SMS from the phone connected to logomanager to another phone. OK, i've just tested it and you can scrap the 8390 - you can send the SMS to the same phone you're sending it from.

So connect up the 7210 to logomanager, and send the message like i went through, but send it to yourself (the 7210 again).

Thus logomanager transfers data across to the 7210, the 7210 then sends the data as an SMS message to it's own number - the message gets to your message centre, is turned around and sent to the receipient - your 7210 again! Strange, but that's just the way it has to work. As long as you have that Op code set to 000 00, you'll get a blank logo.

Ok! I think I have the worst luck or something... ehhee Anyway, I had the 8390 send the SMS transparent logo to my 7210 and it worked.

Problem is that when I save the blank operator logo the "TMO" op logo still shows I went to

MENU/SETTINGS/DISPLAY SETTINGS/ and it seems that the option "Operator Logo" is ON and it seems to be greyed out. What gives! Arggg..I tried to change soemthing but I get a "Logo cannot be shown abroad" error. Hmm.. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks Simion for your help~ =)

    Okay UPDATE!

    I need help from T-Mobile 7210 Owners.

I tested my 7210 with another SIM card from AT&T Wireless and I was able to access the "operator logo" option under Display settings AND I was able to see the clear operator logo. When I switched to the T-Mobile SIM card The "TMO" operator logo shows up whether the setting is on or off. DAMN!

Any T-mobile users out here encounter the same problem? If I get a different SIm card do you guys think theres a difference?

    Help! =(
