Hi to all: Am I right in thinking S46/AT&T, we can only use the Fax/modem in GPRS data mode (Menu 855). This phone cannot be connected to a Laptop or Palm (Via Cable or IRDA) & used as a standalone Fax modem. This method would incur a 1 minute call for say a 50 second fax. Just like a regular fax machine. Am I correct in my understanding: yes we can send a fax from our Palms or Laptops but only via GPRS/Fax. Thus a 1 minute fax would then NOT come out of our anytime minutes and in fact be more expensive by the Kb or Mb.
I tried it. My proceedure Dell Win 2K laptop with IR port. Using Winfax and I got nowhere. The phone saw the laptop and attempted to dial but then would not connect.
