Looking for a phone to connect with PDA

Hi im looking to sign up for a verizon contract soon with a phone that will sync with my PDA (Sony NR70v) What I want to do is buy one of those data cables (from www.thesupplynet.com) and use my verizon phone as a web modem, seeing how verizon has great wireless web features and then go online with my PDA. What phones can I use such a feature with? I know I can with the V60i and that's about it...

Any other phones? What about the upcoming new Samsung A530? thanks.

    It's up to Supplynet

As long as you can get a cable to connect I think just about any phone will work. I use an IPAQ with my V60c and it works quite well. I had asked Supplynet if my existing data cable would work with the T720 and was told that it might require a modification, which they said they'd perform for free but I decided to wait for a different phone and didn't pursue it any futher.

Check the available cables at supplynet (or wherever) and make sure that one is available for the phone you pick. Or send them an email and I'm sure they will respond quickly.

I'm using the Kyocera 2235 and a 3970 Ipaq with the cable and it is working great.

Make sure you get a 1x or high speed data enabled phone for better speeds.

    Good luck

I was told by the Verizon Rep (over the phone) that the Mobile Kit has a USB connector on it - can that be true? How can you use the Mobile Kit/Verizon to go from a Dell Axim X5 to ANY Verizon Express Network phone, (I'm looking at the Motorla 720). TheSupplyNet doesn't list any Dell cables, yet, (of course).

Also, does anyone know when Verizon will have Bluetooth enabled phones that will work on the Express Network, (the Motorola 270c will NOT - it's discontinued anyway, but you can get it on eBay). The rep told me it would be "first quarter", but definetly not for at least two months from now. The Motorola Rep said they were coming "soon". I'm debating on whether to just grit my teeth and wait, (yet more).

I love Verizon, but man, they're driving me insane with all this waiting on one thing or another, (I WAS going for the Kyocera 7135, but it's STILL not out).

    Any help would be fantastic.

    Thanks,

    Eric

    Lots of us waiting...

I'm still holding out for the 7135 - but I'm not holding my breath either....

The Timeport 270 was not 1X... that IS the hitch with that, you still can get them.

Sony/Ericson has the T61c out in stores now, NOT avail at the Verizon stores, aftermarket only and you can buy a BT adapter for it. It is not the "smartback" version they have been promising forever which I think has been officially canned. It is a smallish adapter that fits on the bottom of the phone and gives you BT.

You can get some pretty good info from THIS thread.

    Good luck
