Phase II maps are so pessimistic. 1 year from now they're only expecting to have the major markets covered? Even lots of suburban areas aren't even in Phase II. By that time, Verizon will have EVDO everywhere.

Salt Lake City and San Diego.
UMTS prototype maps!! GO!

So are these all "officially sanctioned" now? In the other thread there was some uncertainty as to whether or not it was OK to put this info out.

Here's the deal: It's ok with this forum to put the images, although some Cingular employees here oppose. However, the obvious assumption is that Cingular officially would not be happy about this and it is uncertain whether or not they'll do something to get us to remove the images.

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. I could come up with a coverage map far more accurate than those with enough time, a GPS receiver hooked to a laptop and a UMTS phone just driving around a city and collecting RF reception readings.
