Telus plans to hire 800 new tech workers
Telus Corp. plans to hire 350 new technical employees in Alberta and British Columbia in the next year and 450 more by 2008 as the company introduces its Internet telephone service and television operations.

however, these positions are tech related. some operator positions and misc other things may be outsourced.

Ill intended people will always say what they want even contradict clear statements made by anyone and anybody.

TELUS said it will not lay off anyone after the call centers closures; they will redeploy the workers to other positions and those who have been with the company for ages and are part of the walls, those same ones on the verge of retiring, will get a severance pay to retire earlier...

It's like, who the fudge would want to stick in the same fudging chair for 40 years???

Anyone knows how to vote out the union?

The only time recently that i can recall of a union being voted out was I think at a Mcdonalds a few years ago. the workers voted in the union, then rapidly voted it out.
