Firstly, you didn't add the carrier and model to your profile, so I've no idea which f/w you'd need.

Assuming you downloaded the specific carrier flash file, you'd also need a cable and Curitel's Unified PST to do the flash.

However, not all 8910's are the same. If you want to reflash the same carriers f/w back to the phone, there should be no problem, but if you are thinking about flashing to another carrier, then it may not work.

From what I've seen, a VM 8910 can be flashed to Cricket, but not Verizon. I'm unsure of other combinations, as a failure will brick your phone and so most don't experiment much.

To find the Curitel PST and various f/w's, look at www.mobile-files.com

Start a thread called "Alltell 8910 f/w Needed" in the Audiovox forum there requesting it. Someone should upload one for you within a few days if they have it.

Are you certain that's the f/w number?

I ask, because this guy says that's "OEM" f/w. (Assumably he means Curitel or Hyundai)

In general, different carriers have different f/w revision numbers, so either you made a mistake (Your phone was bought as an Alltell phone, right?), or that guy did, and he has the flash you need.

I'd assume Alltell has branded f/w, so if that file really is OEM, then it's not what you had originally.

Does anyone know how to pull the firmware from the phone,,(WHAT PROGRAM)

I would gladly post the firmware for ALLTELL,,,or maybe we can make a sticky of collections of firmware for various models and carriers..........

Maybe TAKENABACK can submit a link where to post them if you have them?????

Most people post f/w to mobile-files as attatchments to posts.

By the way, why don't you post the f/w version you need by right clicking and choosing properties for the phone that appears in QPST.

Post that file version to your thread on mobile-files.

I have two phones, an audiovox 8910 from alltel and a nokia 3587i that i would like to be able to use with Cricket service. I am totally unfamilure with how to change them over and could use some help (and patience)... with attempting it. Can someone please email me instructions on how to reprogram them or flash them? I would greatly appreciate it and if you could answer in very simple laymans terms it would be great. Thanks in advance!!! Larry

I have the SAME issue. at first it would display that message then go off for a few seconds then when it rebooted it was fine. It slowly got worse and worse. Now the back lights come on and it displays the following error:

Please Wait, User Data being restore....[7]

This seems to be a HARD error which stick the phone into a REBOOT LOOP, if so it will NOT be able to be programmed as it shuts down to quickly.
turns on, displays error, turns off, ect. (approx 3 seconds on & 3 seconds off)

I searched for firmware ect but was unsucessful as the links to the files are no longer valid.
I guess I will have to scrap the phone and buy a new one.
Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
    Thanks! in advance
