If i use my vx 8100, i go through both my slim and extended battery daily and the same goes for the 8000. All of my usage o is via bt so that is also i big killer.
I would imagine that the battery would last the average user a normal work day with no problems.
Thanks- that gives me a good idea of what to expect. It doesn't sound too horrendous. . .

All this information (or is it hyper-speculation? lol) on the Verizon RAZR and its release date later this month or less has me feeling like a kid at Christmas time. Keep on chatting it up, everybody!
I just spoke with my local Verizon store and they told me January! The manager said that the phones were supposedly sent back to Motorola for a couple changes. Odd...
So this phone will not have an expansion slot? If not, why? I have an 8100 now and have the infamous fluctuating volume in the earpiece, not to mention the fact that the MP3s are STATIC when I'm in an area with no service! (Store said my phone is fine).
So, I've been looking for something to replace the 8100 with and so far I haven't found anything I'd like to switch it for. Then, I heard about the RAZR coming out...
I have a question for all of you (well, many of you):
Why are you so excited about the RAZR?
From what I can tell, there isn't anything special about it at all. It's got a camera that can't be as good as the E815s because the lens cover piece is bulging out rather than recessed and protected. It doesn't have a memory card slot. It's bluetooth is less likely to be hackable. (In fact, so is the rest of it. Have you seen the keypad? You know what that change means.) It doesn't even have a flash light for the camera.
So, from what I can tell it's inferior to handsets like the 8100 (No MP3 player or memory card slot), the E815 (ditto), the A970 (ditto and no 2MP camera), the VX9800 (ditto and no keyboard), and who knows what else.
So, what's so special about it? It doesn't even feel all that small in my hand -- it's too wide. Alright, alright. It's thin. So? It's a Motorola. Yeah, so's the E815. It's a RAZR. Ah yes. Of course.
Hey -- don't flame me. I seriously want to know. I can be certain that this will (well, most likey) be the best selling phone on Verizon for quite some time. Is everyone just buying it for the thin-ness? For the Motorola name? For the RAZR name? To finally go "nyah nyah, our camera is better" to Cingular?

Thank you for serious answers. (Seriously.)
I want the thin factor mostly...I have to keep it in a uniformed shirt pocket and I hate having a bulging one. The extra features to me are mostly useless.

Maybe retail will be 299...
You can get it now for $84 when renewing your Cingular contract. I can't believe how excited you guys are for this 2 yr old dated phone, I really don't get it, like at least one other guy mentioned.
you have better phones on vzw to go for. the Razr is a good 3rd or 4th phone on gsm when you switch phones whenever you want. But many of you seem to be considering this as your 1 main phone on your only carrier of vzw and paying full retail. No wonder vzw makes so much if the educated part of its customers (hofo users) are even this dumb.
Speaking of which I am dumbfounded.

How are you getting 2 years old? Wasn't it released in late 2004?
And...not all of us are going to pay full retail...also....I don't need removable memory...mp3 player...a flash for the camera I don't use...or a huge bulge in my pocket. Choices are made for different reasons...though I agree that if you need these things...why bother with the RAZR...I don't so it will suit me just fine. Roc said the RF was great so that's the other reason I want it. The e815 was just too damn clunky for me...the VX7000 I have now is clunky well, and the RF sucks on mine. New Nokias? Only the 2128i so far ar VZW.
I think it's the fact that the RAZR became popular because of the form factor that many people just love to hate it.

Do any of you noobs even read these threads or do you just look at the pictures? As stated in this and every other RAZR thread NO, THERE IS NO EXPANSION SLOT.
